    Enjoyed my stay with one hiccup

    I stayed one night on Saturday 11 April. I booked directly, a refundable package including breakfast and a palace ticket. Non-refundable rates are particularly good value.I had the basic room type on the 4th floor. My request for a quiet room was granted. The location is perfect for visiting the palace. The bed and bedding were luxurious. It was very quiet and I slept well. Breakfast was of very high quality with an excellent selection of carefully prepared cut fresh fruit.The hiccup was that the hot water ran out when I was washing my hair so that I had to rinse it in cold water. Viorica at the front desk was genuinely apologetic. I hope they address the problem because apparently another room close to mine was also affected on the same night. I was compensated with some Accor points but I would have rather had reliable hot water.

    Shop around for best price and you'll have a great deal

    Having searched for the best rate we booked a 3 night stay for 450 euros. Considering the price I really don't understand some of the negative reviews on here. Check in and service throughout was exemplary, you couldn't get a better location and the room was comfortable, spacious, clean, quiet and well equipped. It may not be the Ritz, but come on, for the price you'd struggle to find anywhere better anywhere in France, let alone within sight and a 4 minute walk from the Palace of Versailles.

    Beautiful hotel and great location, most (not all) staff very helpful. Rooms extremely well furnished with lots of lovely extras Great breakfast selection however, we had been keen to dine in the restaurant each night but staff on reception were quite flummoxed when we asked about gluten free options on the menu, as one of our party is Coeliac (which is not uncommon) On referring to the kitchen there was just one option offered from the whole menu - sea bass. This is shocking in 2026 and hugely disappointing. Staff should be better briefed about allergies and a good restaurant should be able to offer a better selection. Our visit concluded with coffee in the sun lounge, which was most pleasant until the barman interrupted us demanding more money as he had made a mistake and undercharged us when I first paid. (13 euros for 2 coffees)

    Horrific customer service and attempted overcharging

    Be careful. Erroneous charge on check out. Added to this a very upsetting experience at dinner when wine we were drinking was “no available” and were given another option. Before accepting I asked about the price but then they tried to charge us 19 more including restaurant manager. After a big personal embarrassment for myself in front of friends they came back and not charge. Our night was totally ruined. On checkout erroneous charge on bill and I had to have another row including with a hotel manager. Totally unhelpful. On checkout morning trying to rest before travelling banging on door at 1.5 hours before checkout. Amazing location and food was nice but stay was totally ruined by horrific customer service

    The hotel looks very nice from the outside and is in walking distance to the château Versailles. When entering, at lot of gold and clearly showing that the hotel aims for a high standard. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Initially, got a room at the highest floor with a small balcony. Unfortunately, the room hadn't been completely cleaned after the last guest and when sharing this with the reception, they offered an upgrade to another room. The upgrade consisted of a slightly bigger room but no balcony and slightly darker as it was at a lower level. However, the room was clean this time.Breakfast buffet and lunch were of good quality and enjoyable. Unfortunately, a small bag got lost when leaving it in the storage room after check-out. The staff apologized a couple of time and tried to make it up with a bag of their merchandise articles. Much appreciate effort but it would have been even nicer, if they would've checked who takes what out of the storage room.Overall however, good stay.
