    Perfect location

    rating25 Jan 2026

This is a great 2* hotel. Easy to find, a couple of minutes walk from Pigalle Metro Station and a 5 min walk one way to Moulin Rouge and 5 mins the other to Sacre Coeur. Arrived early (12:00) and was given early check in. Room spotlessly clean, warm powerful shower, comfy bed and nice and warm. No breakfast available but plenty of cafes nearby. Hotel staff friendly and helpful-left luggage with them during day before heading to Eurostar home.

    Bonjour Paris!

    rating04 Sept 2025

Stayed here for a full 10 days and lived to tell the tale lol (with calves of steel, thanks to the no-lift situation). If you’re hauling your entire closet, prepare for the spiral staircase cardio challenge of a lifetime. Pro tip: request the 2nd floor unless you enjoy lugging bags up like a Tour de France competitor. The room? Compact but mighty. Cleaned daily, with just enough bathroom space for one human being (two if you’re very good friends). There’s a desk for spreading out maps and pretending you’re an intrepid explorer planning your Parisian conquests.Front desk? Always manned, always helpful. They speak English, but sprinkle in a little “bonjour” and “merci” — works like a magic spell for quicker responses. Location-wise, this spot is gold. Two subway stations nearby, a stroll to Moulin Rouge in one direction (brace yourself for the neon glow of endless sex shops), and the charming Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur in the other (brace yourself for crepes and cobblestones). It’s a tale of two arrondissements: PG-rated uphill, R-rated downhill.A few survival tips:Bring (or buy) the right adaptor, unless you enjoy staring at dead phone batteries.Don’t expect bellboys or marble foyers — this is budget-chic DIY living. Perfect for solo travelers or couples who don’t mind carrying their own bags and groceries (yep, there’s a shop right down the street).Be polite, learn a few French basics, and ask the concierge for food tips. They’re like Yelp, but with actual soul. All in all, I’d absolutely stay here again. Affordable, convenient, and very Paris — quirks and all.Merci & au revoir!

    Do not stay here. Awful.

    rating01 Jan 2025

This is the worst hotel I've ever booked. I didn't stay once I walked in. It's dirty, the person at the reception desk is rude, there's not an elevator, he said he would not help me carry my two ( heavy ) bags to the 5th floor ( which is really the 6th for americans ). If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked on Booking.com and cancelled because it's just so bad. First impressions count, and this hotel and the person at the reception did not make a good first impression at all.

A Perfect Hotel for a trip to Paris

    rating09 Oct 2022

We stayed in this hotel for one week. Situated in the rue Houdon, it is close to the Butte de Montmartre, Abbesses, Pigalle and the city centre. There are 3 Metro stations within easy walk (Pigalle, Abbesses and Averns) with good 'bus connections. The Basilica du Sacre Coeur and Place du Tertre are close by.Staying here you are close to the shopping area, with high-end shops and supermarkets within easy each. Our room was small but very, very clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a fantastic shower.Reception is 24/7 - nothing is too much trouble for them, from organising a kettle to recommending a hairdresser. We shall be going back again!(Some say that the street can be noisy at night - this is Montmartre, so some noise is to be expected. The hotel is still worth staying at and you'll have difficulty finding as good value anywhere in this area).

    Nightmare staff

    rating08 Oct 2022

Firstly, the location is great, super close to metro and montmarte area. However, staff do not speak a word of English, to the point where simply checking in was a nightmare. One morning at 7:45am the desk was unattended and the front door was locked, no answer on the bell, no emergency phone number to call, wifi not working in reception and no lights on suggesting no one was working, despite claiming to have a 24 hour reception. We were up early this morning for a trip which we ended up missing and having to re book. When we tried to raise this to staff at the desk but they couldn’t understand us, despite using google translate and didn’t see an issue with our concern, didn’t try to apologise and even made a sarcastic comment that all we had to do was “ring the bell”. Slightly concerning that there was no other exit if we needed to leave the hotel in an emergency. Bathrooms aren’t particularly clean, not that we were expecting much from a 1 star, but general hygiene is still expected, couldn’t shower for longer than 2 minutes otherwise bathroom would flood. Also there’s no lighting on the staircase at night or in the hallways. The experience didn’t ruin our trip and for a 1 star hotel it isn’t bad at all, the staff just need to be friendlier and the bathrooms need some desperate maintenance
