Competent management could make this a great hotel

    rating11 Nov 2025

First impressions were excellent: location very close to transport links and a range of brasseries and restaurants; a charming décor and ambience in the public areas – and pleasant rooms. But then the avoidable nonsenses started: we had booked a double and a twin and the receptionist went to great pains to ensure she gave the correct key to the correct guest, but she needn’t have bothered as both rooms had just a double bed! It wasn’t a big deal and we were able to laugh it off. We were not quite so amused to discover that the breakfast, which she had told us would be 15 euros each, was in fact 17euros. An even nastier shock was 50 euros city tax, that we were not expecting. The breakfast was adequate, but the “egg bar” had no English signage or English spoken, so how our eggs arrived was pot luck, fried instead of poached for instance, and it was also pot luck whether anyone asked if you would like some coffee. It was taken in a “Spanish” restaurant attached to the hotel – but a separate business. The prices were eye watering, but we can’t comment on the value, having given up after 10 minutes waiting to be acknowledged, let alone served, on the evening we tried to eat there.Perhaps the worst shortcoming was the facilities in the rooms. No kettle (one was advertised), but a coffee machine, with no instructions, that produced one cup of coffee in three nights, either chewing up the pods or flooding the table on other nights. No milk, no tea bags, and no instructions about how to call reception – who didn’t answer anyway, whatever one pressed. The final, final straw was to discover two beer bottles in the mini-bar, but no means of opening them! It is a relatively small hotel, which presumably doesn’t have an on site manager. If it did, it shouldn’t be too difficult to make a potentially lovely hotel ever so slightly customer friendly?

The street would have been more comfortable

RUN ! Keep your money and RUN !My 3 day Paris trip was negatively impacted by my stay here . If there are any issues that arise (which there will be) goodluck with any reasonable solution or compensation!I discovered the hotel falsely advertised the rooms as being air-conditioned! An ammenity I ensured was catered for. This discovery was made when I had to retire to the hotel on my first day owing to a severe headache. Receptions response was they hadn't had working aircon for 2 weeks ( though I anticipate much longer) and there wasn't anything they could do about it. I ended up having to contact the booking agent as staying in the room was unbearable; spending the next 1.5 hours trying to resolve this issue with me missing my scheduled cruise. Eventually the night manager approved a relocation that evening. When I returned to my hotel , there was an issue with said relocation, after 45 min search with me waiting in reception at 12:30pm he called it a night. I had no alternative than to stay. He mentioned I would be relocated to another hotel the follwoing day and this evenings stay will be sorted out tomorrow . The following day I was relocated to my next hotel, another 2 hours lost from my short trip navigating a hotel transfer. But no mention of the hellish evening I had to endure. Upon checking out there was no communication regarding my reimbursement for the prior evening. I had to again contact my booking agent to follow up with my reimbursement of not only my stay, but my deposit too. Maisom Eugenies response - they dont feel that any reimbursement is neccesary as I was eventually transfered and its a no refund booking. My booking was a no refund upon cancellation . They falsely advertised the property as being something that it was not, and once they have your money there is no intention to resolve any issue irrespective of their fault. If you enjoy a hotel room where the conditions are like staying in the Sahara desert peak summer, this one's for you. If you want risk going to a hotel that doesn't care what comes your way, because its not their problem, this one's for you .

Great Stay At The Maison Eugenie

    rating28 Nov 2024

A great hotel in a very nice area of Paris. I certainly recommend this hotel. The beds are really comfortable and there is also a tapas bar as part of the hotel. I was in town for an exhibition and it was a very fast Uber ride to the venue. The breakfast in the hotel as great and highly reccomended.

    rating27 Nov 2024

The hotel & room was nice, BEWARE!! they take a £50 deposit and don't return it to you. Make sure you don't leave the hotel without cash back for your deposit. It's been over a month and they still haven't released it even though I'm emailing regularly
