  Hôtel de la Gaïté: pass your way!

  We slept one night in the apartment. There was no heating so we were frozen. The main entrance door was not looking very secured. The oven was very dirty (hopefully we did not use it!). The 12€ breakfast was miserable: the person in charge was absent, there was nothing to eat except from dry soft bread.One night + breakfast are definitely not worth the price.I do not recommend this apartment, nor this hotel.

  Possibly the worst hotel, other than Norbreck Castle in Blackpool, I have stayed in! The check in/out staff were OK and did an average job. The cleaner would hold the lift up by keeping the door open while chatting to them and if you are on a high floor, waiting 15 to 20 minutes for the elevator is beyond a joke. The carpet in the room had been recovered using a spray dye but not only was the area masked off to do so, the dye would transfer to clothing, or your feet, when it got wet...which would be anytime you used the shower due to it needing to be turned on full to get the water to come out of the head. This was because it leaked from the pipe and the join where the shower head attached! The ceiling in the toilet/shower was in a bad state and at time, the paint/plaster would fall on you as you washed, not a good thing. A similar thing can be said about the walls on the landing. Because we had to walk down the stairs (cleaner holding the lift up due to chatting to reception staff) and needed to hold the bannister (steep stairs and we had cases), we found it to be loose and this could be because at various places it was held in place by brown parcel tape! The noise of an evening may both some as the hotel is next to a lap dancing bar and does get very loud, even with the windows closed. It did have 2 plus points - the bed was firm which I found comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well, albeit a bit noisy (this is why I give 1 star and not zero). Nous avons voulu agencer l’espace de la chambre de manière à avoir un espace salle de douche assez agréable pour nos clients.Les doubles vitrages normalement évitent toutes nuisances. Vous auriez du nous en parler nous vous aurions changer de chambre.Nous espérons avoir le plaisir de vous accueillir de nouveau au sein de notre établissement.Sachez que toute erreur nous sert pour nous améliorer de jour en jour et l’expérience que vous avez vécue fera partie de l’une d’entre elle.Nous vous souhaitons une excellente soirée.

  Price/Quality ratio is the best

  Everything was fine, price/quality ratio is very good. Bistrot downstairs has excellent soup a l'ognion. Excellent boulangerie few steps away.   overall it was just okay but compared to other hotels in the area, it was pretty small with few missing elements like complementary water and internet does not work at all in the rooms. I was on a business trip and except sleeping in the room I could not do much.

  Three Nights at The Gaite

  A good location near to theaters, restaurants and bars. Comfortable bed, helpful staff.
