    Lovely hotel in great location

    rating17 Feb 2026

Great location. It took us 30 minutes to walk to Notre Dame, at a leisurely pace. Metro stations close by, so convenient. Kind and patient staff. Pleasant room with everything we needed. Good value for money too.

    Very negative experience

    rating11 Jul 2025

We had a very unfortunate stay here which revealed alot about this property and chain.Upon check in we discovered the room was essentially not cleaned. The bed linens were changed however there were only a few sheets of toilet paper left with no spare roll, the hand soap bottle was empty, the floors were filthy and the large window was broken and open, allowing easy access to the outdoor balconies/walkway.There was no hot water also, which, after a long travel day was a huge inconvenience. We patiently waited for it to return but by late evening, we inquired to what the issue was and were told they were looking into it.The hot water did not return the following day and there was zero communication from staff. When I approached the front desk, the very defensive and unprofessional employee acted as though there wasn't a problem and simply said she will look into it, but was very disinterested and annoyed at me inquiring. The 2 young employees in fact left me standing in front of them for 15 minutes while they chatted casually with no sense of urgency that their guests were all experiencing a problem.I explained I needed to make a decision for my family(young kids) to move to another hotel since we would need hot water at some point, and I hoped they would compensate for the trouble. She again was very dismissive and unprofessional as well as unapologetic and said she could not do anything. I asked who and where the Manager was that could deal with the issue of the hotel not having hot water, but also rectifying the issue and to advise arriving guests of the issue. She said she and I could not speak to a Manager as they "are on holidays" and she will not compensate us.We were quite taken aback at the lack of protocols, professionalism, guest care, and transparency. I advised her that she is selling a service that is not whole, and therefore needs to take accountability for their issues and correct a bad situation. She had zero compassion and was very rude to my family. Numerous guests were checking out around the same time as us to catch flights and were annoyed, but in a rush to depart. We felt this property was preying on tourists who have quick stays and move on, and the absence of customer care and cleanliness was consistently absent.I have contacted both the property and head office and have received no responses. This is astonishing that they are running a business this way and is very suspicious to me.For future guests: hopefully you do not experience issues because should they arise, the hotel is completely incapable of dealing with them and the rude 20 year olds working the front desk have zero hospitality experience. Mael Viard, Service clients/Réception at Hotel Marais Home, responded to this review Dear Madam,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay at Le Marais Hôme. We would like to apologize once again for the inconvenience, and in particular for the lack of hot water during your stay with us.As we've already explained, a general hot water cut unfortunately affected the whole neighborhood throughout this period. This was an incident beyond our control, and we fully understand the discomfort it may have caused. Rest assured that we did everything necessary to ensure that the situation was rectified as quickly as possible: by the following morning, hot water was once again available throughout the hotel.Aware of the inconvenience caused, we immediately took your comments into account and put in place several commercial gestures, including a refund, which you did receive. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we pay particular attention to each and every one of our customers' comments in order to continually improve the quality of our services. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel.Yours sincerely,Julie, Hotel Manager Marais Hôme

    Lovely little hotel

    rating08 Mar 2025

Lovely boutique hotel which is a 5 minute walk from two metro stations (Republique has several lines going through it so is a great one for exploring the city)The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The family room we were in was a good size for Paris, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was huge (although I think this was only the case in the family room) and had a really good double headed shower. There was a little balcony in our room, which would be lovely in the summer. However, it's view is a wall, although I'm sure this is pretty common in the city centre. The bathroom was a wet room, which I know some people like. However, neither me or my children got on with it as the floor is permanently wet, so we had to lay towels down all over the place so we didn't keep getting wet feet.

    Nice little hotel, location depends

    rating17 Oct 2024

3.75 dots would be more precise, but it’a always tricky, depends naturally what you’re used to. 4 dots for 4 or 5 star hotel naturally require something else than 3 star (cheaper) hotel. We had super small room, which was the cheapest, we knew we wouldn’t spend time in the room. Bathroom was very modern and clean as was the room. Breakfast good and the breakfast room nicely decorated. Paris is a big city and travelling takes time as it does in NY, Ldn and so on. Republic tube station maybe 5-7 mins walk from hotel, easy. Take the buses if you can, google maps gives the directions and times. For example from Montmartre station direct bus to hotel (takes ages, but what the heck, we’re on vacation). Travel passes from tube station, works for buses and tube. ”Validate” on the bus machine, the other one. One peculiarity, you need to pay the whole stay coming in at the reception. Reception open all night. Required to leave the key when going out, classic old school. Why? ”Security”. Key though electronic. Service was kind. The usuals Louvre and so on quite a distance from here, so if you want to minimize travel time, maybe Marais not optimal. Plenty of restaurants here too. Republic square filled with shady people in the dark, but no problems. Mael Viard, Service clients/Réception at Hotel Marais Home, responded to this review Dear 258harrik,Thank you for your detailed review! We appreciate your insights and are glad to hear that you found our hotel clean and modern, especially the bathroom. It’s great to know you enjoyed the breakfast and the decor of the breakfast room.We understand that room size can be a consideration, especially when you’re aware you won’t spend much time there. Paris is indeed a large city, and we appreciate your tips on navigating public transport; they’ll surely help future guests.Regarding the check-in process, we maintain this policy for security reasons and it also prevents losses. We are glad you found our staff kind and accommodating. While the location may not be ideal for everyone, we’re pleased to hear you found good dining options nearby.Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back on your next trip!Warmest regards,Mael

Wow the staff was great and fun. It has an elevator, which was nice for moving the luggage. The area is very walkable. The room is on the small side, so if you have a lot of luggage, you may need to move it around to function. The bathroom was nice size and very clean.Would definitely go back.
