Excellent hotel in pitoresque street with above average quality

    rating14 Apr 2026

Excellent hotel perfectly located in Paris. I used to live in the exact same street and always wanted to come back. The hotel was even better than I expected. The staff is extremely nice and professional, even our wish to switch to a room with street view could be fulfilled. Room service was perfect. Hotel room furniture, bed and bathroom is excellent - way above Paris average. We booked the 20 sqm room which are quite spacious. We had no breakfast. Overall - we will book again!

I see it's your first contribution, it means it was a great experience. Have tried our sauna ? Opened from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm, this is the opportunity to relax and chill after a tiring day in Paris. Free and on request, you can privatize it for 1 hour just for you and the beloved person with you. And for a better experience, try massages proposed by our partner, a very good way start or finishing a day in Paris ! Personalized, anti jetlag or duo massage, there is alway an offer who fits you.Again thank you for your choice. See you next time in Paris.Julien and the Mayflower team

    Secret Gem

I'm tempted to gatekeep this hotel because its that good. I had a great stay at this hotel. Its situated on a very quiet street which is almost ironic because its only a 10 minute walk from Gallery Lafayette and the Paris Opera House and, even though the hotel was fully booked while I was there, I never heard any noise. I had a king size bed in a room facing the street. The windows are soundproof and the blackout curtains make for a great night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable. with quality sheets and towels. The water pressure was great as were the toiletries. The attention to detail in the decor made the room so comfortable. The intricate floor tile in the bathroom, the dark hardwood floors in the bedroom with the inlaid carpet made the room feel luxurious. My shower had both a handheld and rainfall shower head both operated individually and housekeeping were so attentive that they made sure the handheld unit faced the wall so that when I turned the shower on, I didn't get blasted with cold water. It's the little things that make the difference like the handheld steamer in the wardrobe. The staff at the hotel made this entire experience. They all spoke fluent English (I'm American and barley speak any French) they were so helpful offering advice and suggestions on what to see, where to go, where to eat and, how to get there. They printed out directions for me including how to transfer from train to bus, which lines to use and routes to take if I was walking. Overall I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Its definitely more adult oriented than family and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Kapital Opera, Other at Hotel Mayflower Opera, responded to this review Hi Paul,What a pleasure to read your review!“A secret treasure” is truly one of the most beautiful compliments we can receive. At the Mayflower, we place great importance on the cleanliness and overall comfort of our rooms. Your experience also reflects the daily dedication of our entire team: Luz, our head housekeeper, carefully ensures the quality of every room — from the comfort of the bedding to the quality of the amenities, ensuring everything is perfectly maintained for your stay.Thank you as well for mentioning Célia, who warmly welcomes our guests at breakfast each morning, and Fitri and Ramy at reception, who are always here to assist, advise, and make every stay as seamless and pleasant as possible.Did you have the chance to enjoy our sauna? This unique space is perfect for releasing stress and tension after a busy day exploring Paris. It is also private and complimentary for our guests. We sincerely hope this “secret treasure” will remain your confidential address in Paris… even if, between us, it’s getting harder and harder to keep it secret 😉Thank you again for your trust and see you soon!Louise and the Mayflower team

    Horror

    rating10 Feb 2026

The room was in an unacceptable condition: mold in the bathroom grout, sticky surfaces, and broken furniture. However, the worst part was the bed: we found foreign hair on the pillows and the fitted sheet. Under the mattress, we discovered a pile of hair and skin flakes. Even the replacement linens, provided as 'fresh' after our complaint, were contaminated with hair again. We were so disgusted that we had to spend the night sleeping on the floor. The staff on duty during the night were completely overwhelmed by the hygienic conditions and the mess in the room. Even though it was clear that the room was unacceptable, they had no other rooms available. Their only effort was providing 'fresh' linens, but this did not solve the underlying hygiene issues. As a result, we were forced to find another hotel for the night, as staying there was simply not an option, and no immediate solution was provided. We also felt completely misunderstood as guests.Although we explicitly stated that we did not want to check out and only intended to spend the first night elsewhere, our room was rented out to someone else against our will. Since we were denied access to the room we had rightfully paid for, we were unable to check if we had left anything behind. Consequently, an item of ours has since gone missing.Even though we had declined a room change for the following days and were still the legal holders of the key cards and all room-related documents at the time of the re-rental, the hotel showed no understanding or remorse. For such a high price, this experience is absolutely not worth it Kapital Opera, Autre at Hotel Mayflower Opera, responded to this review Dear Mr. Siemssen,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We were very surprised to read your review, as it does not fully reflect our mutual. During your stay, we haven’t been informed about all the elements mentioned in your comment.Cleanliness is a non-negotiable priority for us. Our rooms are cleaned carefully every day, and we follow a periodic action plan throughout the year, which includes thorough cleaning procedures such as under the mattress several times annually.Regarding room 406, when you reported an odor at your arrival, our night receptionist, Sara, immediately did her best to assist you, even though the hotel was fully booked that evening. A problem of a small table with an impact and another problem about the bed have been reported to Sara. We offered solutions and wished to assess the situation together with you in the room, but you refused to us the access to your room first. After the authorization, we nevertheless provided fresh bed linen, towels, and sheets to ensure your comfort. The smell problem has been managed quickly and we proposed to exchange the furniture the next morning. At that time, no hair was found on the sheets, pillows, mattress topper, or mattress, all of which are checked daily by our housekeeping team. During the first night, our general manager was informed about the issue and did the best to find a solution. The next morning, you informed us you were leaving the hotel for another one without any change to manage the situation. We proposed to you to offer you breakfasts and doing a deep cleaning of your room, however it was refused. After your departure, a detailed inspection was carried out. We did find a few hairs under the mattress, but no other traces or elements corresponding to what was described in your review. So we cleaned it carefully.Following the incident, and anticipating the possibility of your return, we took the initiative to prepare room 404 for you as an alternative, fully cleaned and ready, and we were still prepared to offer breakfasts as a gesture of goodwill to ensure you had a pleasant stay. However, when you returned the next day (for the last night), you told us you wanted to get the same room. You also told us you forgot a key that we haven’t found the previous day. When an item is discovered, it is systematically registered in our system, and the guest is contacted immediately. As of today, no keys have been recovered. We regret that this situation led to an early departure and to what appears to have been mutual misunderstandings. Our intention was never to minimize your concerns, but to provide solutions within the limits of availability and possibilities at that moment. We remain available if you wish to discuss this matter directly and sincerely hope we may have the opportunity to restore your confidence in the future.Warm regards,Louise & Mayflower Team
