    Unethical experience

    rating19 Apr 2026

We booked a week stay at the Melia Paris Champs Elysees last minute. The room was rather small but nicely appointed. Location was good with restaurants and shops nearby. There were duplicate charges for coffee (minimum $18 in the morning), the cleaners kept coming into the room even though we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door. The biggest complaint was using their cleaning/laundry service. Using the inroom order form seemed straight forward, however, after receiving the clothing back the company they crossed out my clothing choices, made other choices, and the bill ended up being over 58 Euros to wash 3 pairs of socks and 4 tights. The hotel did not stand behind the vendor they were representing in their rooms, but rather said they had no authority to question the behavior/choices of the vendor to change my order form. We will not be back. MELIA Champs Elysées, Service clients/Réception at Melia Paris Champs Elysees, responded to this review Dear GoPlaces163006,First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay with us. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us continue improving our service.Regarding the laundry service, we would like to kindly clarify that the “express service” option was selected on the form. This service includes a 30% surcharge on the total amount, which explains the difference in the final bill. We are sincerely sorry if this was not clear at the time, and we completely understand how this may have been surprising.Concerning the café charges, we have carefully reviewed your invoice and noted that one buffet breakfast and one continental breakfast were charged. This indicates that the consumption went beyond coffee only. Nevertheless, we regret any confusion this may have caused and remain at your disposal should you wish to review this in more detail together. With regard to the “Do Not Disturb” sign, please rest assured that we have already addressed this matter with our housekeeping manager to ensure this situation does not happen again. Your comfort and privacy are of utmost importance to us.We are truly sorry that your experience did not fully meet your expectations, and we regret that we were not able to leave you with a better impression. It would be a pleasure to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide you with the high standard of service we strive for.Kindest regards,The Melia Paris Champs Elysées Team

Very noisy hotel - internally. Tired. Needs refurbishing. Not worth the name Meliá.

    rating28 Mar 2026

The hotel is tired. Clearly Meliá bought it as us but have not updated. That’s ok but then they have not soundproofed between the rooms either - that’s not ok. I expected much more of Meliá. I’ve stayed at others in the group and they are far above this hotel. It’s an old historic building and very nice but there’s no excuse to not properly gutting it and doing the refurbishment properly. We literally could hear the guy above going to the toilet - 3x as it happened - through the night. When he had a bath in the morning it was as if he was in our room. We were on the 5th floor. Cost was €314/night with no breakfast. There are zero faction the hotel. No bar. No restaurant. Nothing. I would only stay in this hotel on top floor. Else you will not get a good nights sleep. MELIA Champs Elysées, Service clients/Réception at Melia Paris Champs Elysees, responded to this review Dear Mr. Mike,First and foremost, thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your stay with us. We are truly sorry to read that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially given your previous positive stays within the Meliá brand. We sincerely regret the discomfort you experienced, particularly regarding the soundproofing of the room. We fully understand how disturbing this must have been, especially during the night, and please accept our most sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. This is certainly not the level of comfort we aim to provide. We also appreciate your comments regarding the condition of the building and the facilities available. While our hotel is indeed located in a historic property with certain structural limitations, your feedback is extremely valuable and has been shared with our management team for careful consideration as we continue working on improvements. We are especially sorry to learn that you did not feel the value of your stay matched your expectations. Please know that guest satisfaction is our top priority, and experiences like yours are taken very seriously.Thank you once again for your honest feedback. We truly hope you might give us another opportunity in the future to provide you with a stay that better reflects the standards you expect and deserve.Kind regards, Melia Paris Champs-Elysées Team

    Very very bad

    rating23 Dec 2025

I am honestly very disappointed with this hotel. I have stayed at Melia hotels before and always had positive experiences, which made this stay even more frustrating. The rooms are extremely outdated, with a very small bathroom where even one person can barely move comfortably. Cleanliness was also below acceptable standards. Bad smells coming frequently inside. There is also mold problem as you can see from the photos. On top of these issues, there was a constant loud noise coming from the electrical panel, which was very disturbing throughout our stay. Overall this experience did not meet the standards I expected and I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. MELIA Champs Elysées, Service clients/Réception at Melia Paris Champs Elysees, responded to this review Dear Ms Ozgurtaskaya ,First of all, thank you very much for choosing the hotel Melia Paris Champs Elysées. A nice little hotel desperately in need of improvement

    rating23 Nov 2025

I have been coming to this little hotel in the 16eme for perhaps 50 years long before it was taken over by the giant Spanish Melia group. It badly needs a makeover. It used to have a 3-star classification. It now markets itself as 4-star. It can do this by ticking boxes in the Tourist Ministry register. Except it really isn’t. The makeover it was given perhaps 20-30Years ago is tired. The doors are chipped. There are no walk-in showers which in 2025 when most travellers prefer them to baths is weird. It’s winter and there are no extra blankets. Surely they could install little Expresso machines in the rooms instead of cheap packs of instant coffee. The odd picture on the walls in rooms would be nice. I appreciate that prices are pegged to a) the season and b) local real estate prices. But 300-400 Euros given its condition is excessive. The reception staff are nice and professional. To sum up despite its conversion from the cosy 3-star Alexande Hotel to a supposedly 4-star Melia it needs rescuing MELIA Champs Elysées, Service clients/Réception at Melia Paris Champs Elysees, responded to this review Dear Alain, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback, and above all, for your loyalty to our little hotel over so many decades. It truly means a great deal to us that you continue to return, and we are sincerely sorry that your recent stay did not meet the standards you were expecting — and that we aim to deliver. We regret that several aspects of the room did not live up to your expectations, including the condition of certain furnishings, the lack of walk-in showers, the limited in-room amenities, and the absence of extra blankets during winter. Your comments are extremely valuable, and we have shared them with our management and technical teams for immediate review. Enhancements and modernisations are indeed areas we are actively evaluating to better align with today’s travellers’ preferences. We are, however, pleased to hear that our reception staff left a positive impression, as warm and professional service is something we take great pride in. Regarding your observations about value for the price, we understand your perspective and appreciate your honesty. Your longstanding familiarity with the hotel makes your feedback particularly meaningful as we continue working to improve the overall guest experience. We truly hope you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back and show you the improvements we strive to make. Your loyalty deserves nothing less. Warm regards,The Meliá Paris Champs-Elysées Team

Doesn’t Look As Good In Person

    rating03 Oct 2025

Felt like a bait and switch. While the rooms have all of the same furnishings, it looks nowhere near the pictures. Rooms are in desperate need of a facelift. It is however in a great location. Walking distance to the Arc, Eiffel Tower and Champs MELIA Champs Elysées, Service clients/Réception at Melia Paris Champs Elysees, responded to this review Dear Calval27, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
