Hilton in the lobby, Days Inn in the rooms.

    rating19 Apr 2026

We stayed at this Mercure for a couple of days before leaving Paris. I booked a Privilege Room with 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed. The listing says that the room is soundproofed...ha! We could hear talking from another room quite clearly. And a recurrent sound that I described on checkout as being like a monster...think the monster from the movie Young Frankenstein! Our bathroom door groaned loudly every time we opened or closed it, so perhaps what we were hearing was bathroom doors from nearby rooms. The room had carpeting with a pattern that looked like it was from the 1950s. The room was quite cramped and there was no luggage rack or place to put your luggage except on the floor. The outlet in the bathroom, apparently meant for a hairdryer, was wobbly and didn't hold a plug, while the shelf under the outlet was also wobbly and had obviously been torn from the wall. The bedding was quite nice and clean, but the bed itself was far too soft and left me with a backache each morning. While the lobby of the hotel is very attractive and well-kept, like you would find in a Hilton, our room did not match that appearance at all. I would never stay there again.I wrote this same review for the hotel itself, and already got a response saying that "Your description of the situation, as well as the comparison you made, are inappropriate and do not reflect the typical experience at our hotel." Perhaps other rooms are much nicer. I don't know, and I never will. Léa MGDL, Guest Services / Front Office at Mercure Paris Gare de Lyon TGV, responded to this review Dear Guest,As mentioned, we have already answered your two reviews on different platforms. Our answer remains the same for this third review. While we acknowledge your comments regarding certain amenities in your room, we take issue with the exaggerated nature of your remarks concerning noise disturbances. Your description of the situation, as well as the comparison you made, are inappropriate and do not reflect the typical experience at our hotel.Regarding the carpet, it has been renovated and is maintained daily according to strict standards. Its appearance is a matter of aesthetic choice that cannot satisfy all individual preferences. We have noted your comment regarding the bedding. As you yourself point out, the comfort of a mattress is a strictly personal matter. Finally, we regret the tone and nature of your overall review, which do not reflect the recognized quality of our establishment or the dedication of our staff.ManagementMercure Paris Gare de Lyon TGV

    Little gem next to station

    rating11 Apr 2026

Excellent hotel located right at the side of the Gare de Lyon. We stayed here as we got in late from Milan and were catching the Eurostar back to London the next day, the hotel has a tube stop where it is only a short ride to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar. The hotel was on the slightly pricier side but this is to be expected give its location.Check in staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. Our twin room was small but as this was only for one night that was fine, the beds were comfortable, the hotel was quiet and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The water pressure in the shower was great. We paid extra for breakfast and there was a huge selection, aside from the usual continental bread, meat, cheese and pastries, there was yoghurt, crepes, various cereals, many hot items such as eggs, potatoes etc. There was a good selection of very nice fruit juice and the icing on the cake, an actual kettle to properly boil water with actual English tea bags (my first proper cup of tea in two weeks). We would stay here again if in transit to somewhere. Great option for a short stay in Paris

    rating03 Nov 2025

The hotel did not have a great overall rating so we was a bit hesitant booking this, but are glad that we did. As expected, the location just next door to Gare de Lyon was great, especially being able to get off the train from Barcelona after 6.5 hours and walk a few steps to the hotel entrance. For the rest of our stay, being next to 2 metro lines and 2 RER lines made access to the rest of Paris convenient. However it should be noted that the hotel is in a separate building with no direct covered access to Gare de Lyon - something we wished it had as it rained a lot during our stay. The rooms in the hotel were small but with some strategic shifting of furniture around, we were able to find space to place our large suitcases where they could both be opened. The rooms looked modern and well maintained, even if the carpets looked a bit old. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom of a decent size with a bathtub. The included breakfast was good with adequate options to satisfy most tastes. All staff we interacted with were friendly and spoke great English and we had no problems storing our bags with the hotel for a few hours after checking out. There were plenty of good restaurants and 2 supermarkets within walking distance of the hotel. We dined at the famous Le Train Bleu in Gare de Lyon which turned out to be unexpectedly good, despite our concerns that it would be an overpriced tourist trap with mediocre food. Overall a very pleasant stay in Paris !

    Clean and convenient!

    rating18 Oct 2025

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at this hotel. Our check in and reception was warm and helpful. They stored our bags so we could go sightseeing. The hotel met all our needs for a few nights. We did not eat at the hotel because we found a Boulangerie around the corner. Overall, our room was clean, comfortable and close to the train and metro without the noise of being on a Main Street.
