Location

The appealing city hotel lies at the foot of the hill of Montmartre close to the former artist's district and not far from the famous Moulin Rouge and Sacré Coeur. From here one is able to enjoy an especially magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower. Links to the public transport system are only 200 m from the hotel (Place de Clichy Metro station). The near vicinity offers diverse shopping facilities.

Facility

305 rooms, including 1 single room and 129 double rooms, are located on 9 storeys and can be reached by lift. Check-in and check-out are possible at any time at the reception desk. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access (for a fee) is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.     Aircon and fan non existent. Especially annoying during this spell of hot weather, and on the hotel’s website description of its amenities it particularly says that they have aircon. If we had known, we wouldn’t have booked here. Otherwise, the hotel has a very nice terrace where you can have breakfast outside in warm weather.The rooms are fine, but the plastic baths are very slippy if you’re having a shower.

    Sleepless in sweaty Montmatre!

    No a/c- be prepared to be hot and stay hot!Currently staying in the Mercure Montmatre. Great location, convenient for sightseeing and exploring Paris. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel is pretty basic but clean…pillows are not amazing, towels are on the small side, bathroom is functional. The toilet is separate from the bathroom and is barely big enough. And it’s hot! The soap and shower gel smell delicious and are lovely.But there is currently no a/c in the whole hotel. We weren’t told on arrival (Monday) and every day have been told an engineer is coming tomorrow. It’s now Wednesday night. It’s 30 degrees C plus in Paris this week. We are hot, sweaty and are getting no respite in the hotel! So far we’ve been offered free drinks and given some chocolate (which is meting in our hot room). Oh and there’s no ice in the hotel bar. Whoops. The water filling station on level 1 is a god send.

    The A.C. was not working for 3 nights in one of the hottest weeks in May history, but reading so many reviews with the same problem, it appears there is simple no air conditioning is in fact installed. You should stay away from this hotel during the summer and the hotel, should at least place a tower fan in each room.What saves this hotel is its location, just a block away from bus stop or metro station. Walking distance from Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coeur.

    BEWARE!!! NO A/C!! REFUSES TO TURN IT ON!!! 87*

    Unresponsive to issues with the room. Air-conditioning never worked and it was 87°F with sun streaming in the room every afternoon; we literally soaked the mattress with perspiration because it was so hot in the room. Multiple times asked for assistance and was promised to have a technician, but never did. One clerk actually admitted they controlled the A/C from the front desk, then a clerk later told me they didn’t. When confronted he looked embarrassed. Breakfast was good, only they were very slow to replenish items.

    Absolutely lovely stay! Room was spacious and very clean and all the staff were very friendly- special mention for Jonathan in the bar who accommodated us quickly even though it was very busy. The bar was an unexpected bonus. Really lovely space to have a drink. We had breakfast on our last morning and it was worth the €20, food was hot and replenished. Location was perfect, really close to a Metro and walkable from Gard de Nord - though do be aware of the area around the Moulin Rouge if you come with children….Quite an eye opener!All in all a really great base and a splendid few days!
