Good but could easily be Very Good

    rating27 Oct 2025

This was our send stay and this time for three nights. We were allocated room 208 on arrival and it was fine. We reported an issue with a flickering light bulb but it was not changed and this did affect our enjoyment. In addition the weekend breakfasts were poor with nothing topped up and I was disappointed though on the Monday it did improve. The floor needed a wash desperately. Otherwise staff were friendly, the bar was very pleasant and the general decor was very good. I think that information regarding parking would also assist guests. I will return but hope there will be some improvements made

No air and no hot water

    rating28 Jun 2025

Overall the hotel was fine, the location great for access to shops, restaurants and walking the grounds of the chateau. However, we were specific to find a hotel with air conditioning and it was not working. We were told the second day that it was fixed, but again was up most of the night unable to sleep because it was so hot. And, there was no hot water in the shower any morning. Oddly, there was hot water for the sink, but not the shower. I was traveling with several people in different rooms on different floors and all had the same experience. If the hotel cared at all, it could be a nice place to stay. Unfortunately it’s clear they don’t want to invest in the hotel as there is VERY little staff. Tateana was wonderful, very nice and tried her best, but each day was dealing with so much out of her control. She was amazing, keeping a smile on her face and trying her best with all the upset guests. The restaurant/bar was also understaffed and at night there was only one employee in the hotel (at least that’s what we were told and all we saw). It’s a shame they don’t care more to hire people and ensure basic things like hot water and air conditioning are provided. I’d recommend looking for another hotel if staying in the area.

    Stress free stay

    rating15 Jul 2024

The staff was accommodating and friendly. Our room was clean, quiet and spacious, with a bathtub and a mini fridge. We found cheap parking on a street nearby. Close to shops and restaurants. We didn't get breakfast at the hotel, there are plenty of options around. An excellent stay. I missed a coffee machine in the room to make our stay perfect. Warmly recommend and will return.

    Nice location but eat out

    rating19 Aug 2023

A good looking hotel at a reasonable price. Takes pets and in a great little town. Some lovely independent shops and eateries so a good place to lay your head. Didn’t eat here (poor reviews) as loads in the area but definitely would stay again. Saturday market in the summer opposite the hotel. To be recommended especially after our return experience NR Calais!

    Disappointed

    rating15 Jul 2023

This experience was not a bad one, but also wasn’t great. The front of house staff were very nice but there was only one on-duty at once so checking in and out moved slowly. In the evening the bar staff seemed to be having some internal problems which might’ve been why we didn’t get any service. Finally, the breakfast options were a little bare, the fruit wasn’t ripe and it seemed like a free for all when going up to get food.
