  Well-Run Mid-Range Hotel in a Great Location

  Well-appointed three-star hotel in the midst of the Latin Quarter. Staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were comfortable, if a little on the small side. We were there during a heat wave and the hotel and the room were well airconditioned. The room A/C was fairly quiet and provided enough gentle white noise to cover street sounds during the night. Great breakfast buffet. A few minutes' walk from the Seine, not far from Notre Dame.

  Awful Experience

  This was awful. We had to carry our suitcases up to the 6th floor because the elevator wasn't working. The man at reception watched us wait for the elevator and didn't mention it was broken and then he watched 6 of us carry our bags up the stairs with no apology or offer of help. Yes, the room is "air conditioned", but our room never got cooler than 80 degrees. We contemplated leaving to find another hotel. The temperature was mentioned several times to the front desk and nothing was ever done. It was clean. Bathroom amenities were provided.

  Lovely hotel in a perfect location

  We loved Hotel Minerve. It's in a fantastic location in the Latin Quarter, on the Rive Gauche, with lots of restaurants, cafés, and even a decent grocery store with lots of ready-made meals available. It is an easy walk to the Seine, Île de la Cité and Notre Dame, and all the tour boat companies have stops on that stretch of the river. The Hotel itself is pristine, the staff are very friendly and very patient with my attempts to speak French, even though they all spoke English. The room is small by North American standards, but larger than we had expected. Our room was on the first floor (we would call that the second floor in Canada), and we had a small outside patio with a table and two chairs, which was very nice. The patio was completely enclosed by buildings, so no issues with safety. The queen-size bed was very comfortable, with lots of pillows and extra blankets and pillows in the closet/wardrobe, and we enjoyed the period look of the room, complete with some nice paintings and lovely period furniture. The only issue we had was that there was no chest of drawers in the room, which would have been nice. There was a kettle with coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the room, and a machine that made excellent coffee for 1 Euro in the lobby. I'm not sure why the hotel is only rated 3 stars, maybe because it doesn’t have a full restaurant. It does serve a buffet style breakfast, with the usual pastries and warm dishes in the mornings, which looked excellent. We didn’t do the breakfast, but chose instead to walk to our morning destinations and pick up something light on the way. We highly recommend the Hotel Minerve.

  Wonderful Stay at Hotel Minerve!

  Loved this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel, located in the Latin Quarter, is within walking distance of Notre Dame and more restaurants, cafes, and shops than I count.

  The UBS connection in the desk lamp appears not to be working. I tested it to make sure there were no confounding variables.
