    Hotel Mogador

    rating05 Apr 2026

We stayed at Hotel Mogador for 6 nights. Pros: extremely kind staff. Snacks/drinks available for a pick-me-up after a long day of enjoyment in Paris. Breakfast is available for additional cost. An elevator is available and hold two people or one person and two bags of luggage. Room had a television, full length mirror, hairdryer, desk. There is an Asian restaurant next door and a pizza restaurant just a 3 minute walk down the street; both have carry-out available. Near multiple metro stops.Cons: our first room was infested with ants. We were told since it is next to the garden that it does happen. We were moved to a second room. The second room was larger. The second room had a stench of sewer. We were able to close the bathroom door and all was well.

    Lovely stay, would recommend

We stayed for 3 nights as a family of 4. Excellent location and the staff at the hotel where very obliging, kind and helpful. For a reasonably priced city centre hotel the room was a decent size and the kids had separate beds which was big plus they dont like sharing a little pull out sofa bed. There was a lift and the shower only had a small step in (most air bnb n smaller hotels i contacted didnt and we had a guest with limited mobility so those where essential for us) although there is a step into the hotel from the street.

    Solid choice in Paris

    rating16 Sept 2025

Stayed for a few nights in September. Small hotel, maybe 17 rooms, not many staff. Older building, narrow stairways, small elevator. Room doors very close to each other, but very quiet. Room was quite large for Paris, though washroom is very small - one person at a time. Looks like it was refreshed about 10 years ago. The location is a 10. Walkable to so many things. Around the corner from Gallerie Lafayette & Pretemps. Tonnes of restaurant options around. Easy walk to Montmartre. The breakfast room had a nice variety of pastries, breads, cheese & meat, plus you can get an omelette if you wish. Staff is super nice and helpful.

Paris is great. Hotel Mogador, not so much.

When we arrived at around 7 am there was no one working the front desk and they didn’t have anywhere to put our bags, even though there was supposed to be bag storage. There was a gentleman there who tried to help us. I don’t think he worked there, because he left the hotel when we left to get on with our first day, but he seemed to know what was going on. When we arrived from our first day in the city, we proceeded to our second floor room. We noticed walking up the stairs that it smelled like cheap cleaning products. They had put our bags in our room, which was a plus. The room was dated, which was expected based on my research. It was also small, but also expected in Paris. The biggest issue was the A/C. It was broken, which we to discovered on our own. When I brought it up to the front desk, he seemed fully aware and said if we packed our bags back up, he could put us in a room with working A/C the next day, as he didn’t have any available that day. There wasn’t much I could do so I accepted this supposed solution. That evening we had to sleep with the windows open. It thankfully was pleasant outside, but there were people speaking loudly and smoking on the street directly below us most of the time. At that point I started looking for another hotel, but found out that TripMasters, who we booked through, didn’t offer refunds. When I looked into their policy, it basically said “you got a big discount and you get what you pay for.” For this reason I won’t be using TripMasters again. The next day, we packed or bags to moved to the new room and headed out. When we arrived at our new room, we discovered that this A/C didn’t work either. This room was on the third floor and overlooked a courtyard, meaning we wouldn’t have to deal with the noise and smoke, so I just didn’t bother. On this point, it’s worth noting that one of the reasons we selected the hotel was that it was supposed to have A/C.The second room seemed a little bigger, but every bit as dated. The keys were plastic tags with a large brass keychain rather than cards. When I was leaving one day, the receptionist asked me if I wanted to leave the key with her, which I declined, given the fact that there wasn’t always someone at the front desk, ti which she said “don’t lose it” with a bit of an attitude. The good? The location is great. The 9th arrondissement is centrally located with easy access to all metro lines and direct routes to everywhere we went - with the exception of the Arc de Triomphe. The staff was not impolite, and on the last day, we missed our cab with very little time to get to Gare de Lyon, and the lady at the front desk was very helpful in telling us that we were unlikely to get there on time taking another taxi and should use the Metro, which likely saved us from missing the train. It’s worth noting that I don’t have super high standards. We stayed in another 3-star, comparably priced hotel in Nice, which I would give at least 4 stars. arnaud béry, Directeur général at Hotel Mogador, responded to this review Hello,We thank you for your comment. However, we would like to clarify certain points. You arrived at 7 a.m., at the time of the shift change between the night watchman who leaves and the receptionist who arrives. The hotel reception is open 24 hours a day. It was obviously not a person outside the hotel who welcomed you.The hotel has a luggage room and this is where your luggage was placed before we bring it to your room.In order to protect the environment and save energy, air conditioning in France can only be activated if temperatures exceed 26°C (79°F) indoor. It's the law. Our air conditioning is therefore only turned on in summer or when outside temperatures exceed 20°C (68°F). During your stay, outside temperatures fluctuated between 8°C (46°F) at night and 17°C (62°F) during the hottest part of the day.We are delighted that you appreciated the central location of the hotel as well as the professionalism of our staff.

    Lovely hotel

    rating28 Apr 2024

A cosy, clean, primely located and quiet boutique hotel with a wonderful service by the manager Sylvain. Very prompt in his emails before checking into the hotel. Then when I arrived he assisted me with map directions to the city, then to the Eurostar and finally after checking out made sure the taxi comes on time with no delay. I will definitely return back to Mogador Hotel. Thank you.
