  Good reasonably priced hotel, but needs some customer service

  Hotel is clean and located about 30min from the Arc de triomphe. Whilst reasonable there are some issues I have. No cups to make tea or coffee, despite asking I am still awaiting them to arrive in my room on check out. Check out is 12pm yet at 9am I was disturbed by house keeping seeing what time we were leaving. This isn’t great

  Had my belongings stolen in the hotel lobby

  Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, the neighbourhood is dodgy and didn’t make me and my family feel safe at all, rooms are average and definitely overpriced for what they offer, but what made my experience terrible was having my handbag stolen in the hotel lobby in the middle of the day, while retrieving the luggage I stored there for the day. My handbag was stolen by an individual who entered the lobby without being noticed, let alone challenged, by the receptionist sitting at the front desk, and left by the fire exit that wasn’t even alarmed. When I noticed my bag was gone, little to no support was offered me by the receptionist, I had to ask them more than once to check the CCTV for me, which they eventually did. In a situation of panic and distress I felt completely left alone by the hotel staff, and a brief email exchange with the hotel Manager the next day, made me understand they consider what happened to me and the fact that a thief entered the premises in the middle of the day, normal because the lobby is “a public space” and there’s nothing they could do to make their guests feel safe. I consider an hotel a safe space, where one should be able to feel protected, relaxed and at home but Novotel failed on all accounts and didn’t even try to make the situation better. Of course no compensation has been offered, but not even a glass of water when I was in distress. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Please know that your concerns were taken seriously by out team. As previously mentioned in our email exchange, the hotel lobby is a public areas space where guests, visitors, and external individuals may circulate. Guests are therefore responsible for keeping their personal belongings under close supervision at all times. Based on available information and the CCTV footage that was reviewed, your bag was unfortunately taken while it was not being actively monitored.Regarding the fire exit, these are emergency exits, these are emergency exits and are not required to be continuously monitored, as their primary purpose is to ensure safe evacuation. The hotel fully complies with all applicable safety and security regulations. We would like to reassure all readers that our team followed the standard procedure in such situations including checking CCTVC footage and assisting the guest as requested. We also find it unfortunate that the hotel is being criticized for its pricing, especially as you indicated during your stay that you were satisfied with your experience. The rate for your stay corresponded to the standard price available at the time of booking and was accepted when the reservation was made. Additionally, the neighbohood surrounding the hotel is generally considered safe and regularly frequented by visitors and local residents. Finally, we note that this same review has been posted on multiple platforms. While we respect every guest's right to share their experience, we regret that presenting the situation in this way may give a misleading impression.   worst ever treatment in the worldthey humilaite thier guests and shout at themim staying at room 416ive ordered mcdonalds for the kids when it arrived i iasked the reception if the kids can eat at the lobby tables she said yes when i kept the food and called the kids a waitress started shouting at me and raising her voice saying its not allowed i told her the reception told me its ok she shouted again with her eyes wide open she said im telling you its not allowed you should leave shouting at me infront of other guests ... is this a way to treat hotel guests ? atleast talk in a polite way .. this is the first and last time that i will ever come to this Novotel 17 very rude treatment and this has never ever happned during my travelling anywhere in the world Jean-Marc Fouchier, General Manager at Novotel Paris 17, responded to this review Dear Mohamed Humaidan,Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent experience at Novotel Paris 17.
