Location

The hotel is located right by the Gare de Lyon railway station, a 10-minute walk from the Bastille and 10 minutes by metro from the Louvre, close to numerous major retailers. It is not far from the events centre Palais Omnisports de Bercy, Austerlitz station and the French National Library.

Facility

The hotel has 2 suites, 253 single rooms and 161 double rooms, which are located on 7 storeys and are reachable by 3 lifts. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Children can enjoy the playground. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park (for a fee). Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. All rooms are carpeted and include a queen-sized bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested.     Standard Novotel and best for Gare de Lyon access

    Stayed here for a night after arriving from JFK and taking a train the next day to Dijon and then back for a night before heading back to JFK. I’m a huge fan of Novotel and this one was mostly up to the same expectations. I was upgraded both times to an executive room with my Accor loyalty status. Room was spacious though both times it was difficult to get the A/C to work so the rooms were quite warm. Workout room was small but functional and had a water station and towels, so that’s a plus. Check in, check out and bar service for my welcome drink was all very efficient. The small pool was also very pleasant. One thing of note- the elevators were the fastest I have ever experienced. Not sure I would recommend for an extended stay but it was great for convenient access to Gare de Lyon. Other note: I plugged in the kettle the morning we left upon departure and blew a fuse. Husband told the front desk and we ended up showering and getting ready without any power in the room.

    Conveniently located right next to Gare de Lyon for metro & inter-city connections. Bus stops were a short walk away. The hotel was very quiet — windows could be opened but when closed sound proofing was excellent. Additionally we did not notice noise from adjacent rooms or rooms from above. Room was clean, with a comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room but seriously when you are paying that much per night lose the paper cups!There were many restaurants in adjacent streets that made eating out easier. Highly recommend Boulangerie Mason Menier around the corner. Stayed 4 nights.

    NOVOTEL GARE DE LYON was absolutely the best! Our stay there was simply brilliant.Our one night stay (Saturday, 7th March - Chamber 624) was the best hotel experience my son and I have had on a school/business trip, such as this. The best. Full stop. No exaggeration.Our accommodation was lovely, spacious and enjoyable — we didn’t want to leave! Our room was a large Double/Queen with a Terrace. Our terrace, overlooking the Gare de Lyon was such a wonderful way of being in Paris — it felt like living there, just for a moment. Our own private slice of Paris. The food, the service, the pool, the KIDSZONE, everything about it has been thought out beautifully, with the comfort/pleasure of the visitor in mind.More importantly, the staff at Novotel Gare de Lyon were amazing! And they are to be highly commended for their care and attention. We were treated like *people* and not merely *customers*. The best example of this is this:On the morning of our departure, as we left the hotel to return to England, my son left our water bottles at the hotel. Once we were seated on Eurostar, I phoned NOVOTEL Front Desk immediately. A member of the NOVOTEL staff had already secured the items and had them to hand. He emailed me — even before I could email him! — to arrange returning the items directly to us in Britain. In his email he thoughtfully included clear photographs of the items, so that we could verify that they were indeed the ones we were missing. The items are being dispatched today, and will be with us in 5 days. With such care and attention, all of this happened swiftly. Resolved, even before we had left French soil. This is *customer care*. This is *customer service*.NB. By contrast - our stay prior to this had been at the MERCURE GARE DE LYON -- they were the worst! We left our Paris souvenirs in our room -- and they were thrown away. This was so heartbreaking for us. Those things were not trash. Yes, our mistake for leaving them, but, just a little thought, care and attention would have made a world of difference in this situation. Thankfully, NOVOTEL reminded us what a great hotel should be!     Adjacent to Gare de Lyon train station. However, on the first attempt somewhat difficult to locate in the labyrinth like underground concourse below the main station. The view from the bedroom window was over a modern concrete space lined by modern low rise apartments and shops of no architectural merit. Everything else was OK but a little bit disappointing.
