  Love Paris, enjoyable stay.

  This is the second time we stayed at Hotel Opera Lafayette through JET2 City Breaks. We stayed in a room on the fourth floor we had emailed in advance asking for a room on a higher floor as we knew the road noise could wake us. We slept very well in room 47 at the end of the corridor no road noise and hardly felt the metro this high up. Lovely french windows to open for fresh air and take in the view. The room was cleaned, beds made and new towels every day. One day we had put on a do not disturb sign on the door for a sleep in and left the used towels outside. Later housekeeping came back and knocked, in my basic french I managed to ask for new towels and a bath mat, the ladies were very friendly and helpful. Shower powerful and just needed a few minutes to warm up. Used the hairdryer provided in the bathroom and I had to remove the end cap or it would cut out but worked fine after that. Shower body wash, hand wash, shower caps, cotton buds provided in the bathroom. Safe to use in the room. Kettle,paper cups, bottle of water and a few coffee sachets included. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there are many boulangeries nearby. Cadet Metro a few minutes walk away.   A great find!

  I had never been to Paris before and I stayed 3 nights at this hotel including breakfast. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The day and night concierges were excellent, very friendly and helpful! Easy to travel to from Orly airport, via metro . This hotel is in an excellent central location for visiting the main attractions in Paris, either by metro,bus or walking. I walked all over Paris, le Louvre, le Marais, Eiffel Tower, Montmartre etc. The breakfast at this hotel had an excellent, good selection of options. My single room (double bed ) was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. Close to Metro, Restaurants, bars etc, this hotel is a great choice. I can't recommend enough!   Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing.The entire property had no hot water because all of the boilers were broken. This happened in the middle of December, when temperatures were close to freezing every day. Not having hot water under these conditions is completely unacceptable.We repeatedly asked the hotel for a solution, such as a transfer to another hotel or access to another facility where we could at least take a shower. Unfortunately, nothing was offered. The staff only said they were waiting for a technician to fix the problem.After the second day, the situation became unacceptable and we decided to move to another hotel at our own expense. The hotel staff assured us that we would be refunded for the nights we did not stay. However, to this day we have not received any refund, and our messages are no longer being answered.Because of the lack of basic services and the unfulfilled promise of a refund, I cannot recommend this hotel at all.   Definitely recommend this hotel! We stayed for 4 nights and is in close proximity to Cadet metro station. Walking distance to the Louvre and Opéra. Staff extremely friendly, and reception is 24/7, you also hand your key in every time you leave the hotel. Modern bathroom and room, unlike corridors which are slightly dated but no complaints. Don’t be deterred by the hotel being on a main road, as windows are very sound proof. Room cleaned and towels changed daily. Only minor issue is that there was a wooden sliding door on the bathroom, limiting privacy, although based on photos I think other rooms do have actual doors. This hotel is a gem and deserves higher ratings! Hotel sorted is a return taxi to the airport no problem. No noise from other rooms/guests. Good amenities in close proximity. Great value for money. Tea, coffee, water etc in room.   It is within 10 min walking distance from Gare du Nord. Hence, if you come to Paris by Eurostar, it is a close place. Walking to Opera is possible and Rue La Fayette is safe to walk, but it'll take 20 - 30 min. Public transport is good as it is close to the Cadet situation. The room, itself is a bit run-down. We have difficulties in opening the bathroom door. Having said that, the three-bed room has 3 equal-sized bed, and is sizeable for 3 people to move inside. It is not bad for budget travellers.
