    Bad service, terrible room

    rating20 Jul 2025

Believe the 1-star reviews. This hotel needs a deep cleaning and new mattresses. My mattress was concave and sunk deeply in the middle. The black carpet and velvet drapes were full of dust and lint. In the middle of a heat wave there was no bottled water available because it was locked up and man at the front desk didn’t have the key. In fact, he told to go to the store two blocks away at midnight. Poor service! My friend’s room had clear signs of black mold in the bathroom. And they changed her room. Don’t stay here. You’ll regret it. Marco DA ROCHA, Directeur général at Hotel Peyris Opera, responded to this review Dear Mrs. Kim,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your stay at our establishment. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.Regarding the mattress, had it not suited your comfort, we kindly remind you that our reception team is always available to assist. We would have been happy to offer you a different room with a firmer mattress upon request. As for the cleanliness, please note that all our rooms are checked daily by our head housekeeper. We apologize if there was any oversight during your stay. Concerning the bottled water, we offer complimentary bottles on the day of arrival. Additional bottles are available for purchase at the reception, where they are kept chilled in our snack area. Finally, in regard to the mold you mentioned in the bathroom, we do have a maintenance technician responsible for the upkeep of the entire hotel. A quick report to the reception would have allowed us to resolve the issue immediately. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again soon and to provide you with a much more pleasant experience.Kind regards,

    STAY AWAY

    rating05 Jul 2025

This establishment falls short of expectations and should not be recommended for lodging. The hotel exhibits signs of neglect, including outdated decor, dust accumulation, and the presence of black mold in the bathroom ceiling. Despite being relocated to a different room, the condition remained largely unchanged. The discomfort was such that I resorted to sleeping atop the covers. The lounge area is equally dusty and serves as a storage space, with the bar occupying a limited area that does not provide an enjoyable experience. The hotel’s decision to keep water bottles under lock and key is concerning. Additionally, it is advisable to refrain from drinking water from the check-in counter. The water jar with soggy slices of fruit sits there all day, I encourage you NOT to drink from, the accumulation of bacteria due to the lack of frequent water and fruit replenishment does not happen throughout the day. Marco DA ROCHA, Directeur général at Hotel Peyris Opera, responded to this review Dear Samantha,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay at the Peyris Opera Hotel. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we sincerely apologize if certain aspects of your stay caused any disappointment. You mentioned that the decor felt outdated, and you raised concerns about dust and discomfort. While we fully respect your impressions, we would like to clarify a few points. The hotel’s decor has been thoughtfully designed in a classic Parisian style, which many of our guests find charming and elegant. Regarding cleanliness, please be assured that all rooms whether for new arrivals or stayoversare vacuumed daily, and bathrooms are carefully checked by our housekeeping team.We also provide two complimentary bottles of water in every guest room upon arrival as a welcome amenity. After that, additional bottles are available for purchase at the bar, where they are kept chilled in the minibar at the reception desk.As for the fruit-infused water jar in the lobby, it is replenished daily with fresh water and fruits. To date, we have not received any complaints about it. It is unfortunate that you did not raise this concern with our reception team during your stay, as they are always available and happy to assist with any questions or requests. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again and providing a stay that better reflects the standards we strive to uphold.Kind regards,

    Avoid

    rating29 May 2025

I’m very disappointed with our stay at Hotel Peyris Opéra. Despite being advertised as a 4-star hotel, the quality felt more like 2 stars. The air conditioning in our room was not working, which made it extremely uncomfortable, especially since we were on the 5th floor with my 8-year-old son during very hot weather. When I asked at the reception to change the room, the staff member not only refused to help but started shouting at me. This kind of disrespectful and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. I do not recommend this hotel, especially for families looking for comfort and proper service. Marco DA ROCHA, Directeur général at Hotel Peyris Opera, responded to this review Dear Madam,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us.We sincerely apologize for the air conditioning breakdown on the day of your arrival. Unfortunately, due to full occupancy that day, we were unable to offer you a room change immediately. However, we were able to relocate you to a room with functional air conditioning as of the following day. Please be informed that the necessary maintenance has been carried out by the air conditioning service company, and the faulty compressor was replaced today. With regard to your comments about a lack of courtesy at the front desk, we must respectfully disagree, as our team consistently strives to provide professional and courteous service to all our guests, even in challenging circumstances. We fully understand your frustration regarding the inconvenience caused by the malfunctioning air conditioning, which was beyond our control, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide you with a more enjoyable experience.Kind regards,

    Garish Hairy Nightmare

    rating20 May 2025

First night we were put in a terrible, tiny, smelly, dirty room. There was pubic hair in the sheets. Front desk said they had no options to move us and we were utterly exhausted It was hot and stuffy - the front controls the air. Said to open the window which opened to an alley with gross sewage smell. I cried. All garish old dusty decor looks like a clown costume or cruella de vil. Next day they moved us to similar room, but much larger and a bit cleaner. Never again. Marco DA ROCHA, Directeur général at Hotel Peyris Opera, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay at Hôtel Peyris Opéra.We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please rest assured that your comments have been forwarded to the relevant department as part of our ongoing efforts to improve our services. However, we would like to clarify that all our rooms are subject to daily, thorough inspections by our housekeeping supervisor, and we take great care to ensure the cleanliness and comfort of our facilities. Additionally, our hotel is located between two main streets and not in a narrow alleyway, as may have been perceived. In an effort to enhance your comfort, you were upgraded to a Privilege Room the following day at no extra cost. We regret that, despite this gesture, your stay did not leave you with a more positive impression. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and to provide you with the quality experience we strive to deliver to all our guests.Kind regards,

    Ok hotel

    rating30 Apr 2025

Adequate hotel in good location. Definitely not a four star. Hardest bed ever. Tiny separate room for toilet. Room not cleaned every day. told breakfast was included and then charged 12E a day when we checked out. Breakfast was passable. No fresh fruit. Front desk staff was helpful. Marco DA ROCHA, Directeur général at Hotel Peyris Opera, responded to this review Dear Sir,Thank you for your comments. However, we would like to point out that all the common areas and several rooms have been recently renovated. If the room you were assigned didn't suit you, you simply had to request a room change. Regarding the breakfast buffet, has it never been €12? You may have the wrong hotel, especially since rooms are cleaned every day without exception. Best regards.
