Friendly staff, quality needs some improvement

    rating10 Dec 2025

Initial impressions were confusing with emails being sent by the hotel chasing further payment after the initial booking and payment was made. This happened to everyone in our party. It took a few emails in French to settle matters. The hotel itself was easy to check in, parking was good - in the basement level. Breakfast was good quality but with the hotel busy the buffet ran out quickly and took a while to be refreshed - the staff did their best - I just think they are not used to being as busy as it was for the event that was on this weekend. On a quieter day you would be having a great morning. My room was a little tired in need of refresh - noted that they seem to be refurbishing and there may be more up to date rooms available. The pictures of the headboards on the beds are true to life but behind the pillows the headboard was peeled and flaking and meant that it was disconcerting - I didn't want to put my head anywhere near it and flakes ended up on the pillows and bed. The major issue I had was discovering blood spots on all the bed linens upon arrival - every pillowcase, the sheet, and the duvet cover had multiple small stains. This was naturally concerning from a hygiene perspective, and I thoroughly inspected the bed and room but found no other issues. I reported this immediately and the linen was changed - the replacement bedding was lovely, crisp, fresh, and clean. The little kitchen facility in the room was handy - cooker, microwave, fridge, sink, kettle. The bathroom was dated but functional - a bath with shower attachment and a screen that didn't work very well. The water pressure on the first floor was not particularly good and the temperature - regardless of time of day - was never really hot enough. The cold tap water in the room was a little warm, which was concerning, so I stopped drinking it - they did have cold water filter machine near the lifts on the same floor which was good. The heating in the room didn't work very well and was noisy - tired AC. The hotel is on what seems to be quite a busy rood going through this small town and as the road rises up a small hill after a turning, it seems that vehicles accelerate up the hill. My room was right at that point where it was exposed to the noise of that traffic - so many noisy cars and motorbikes through the night meant I had to sleep with earplugs in - not ideal. I think there are internal rooms available - worth asking for if you are a light sleeper.

Excellent hôtel / Aparthotel well located in the beautiful Maisons Lafitte, close to the RER strain station, next to the castle, Parc and shops. Train trip to Paris is only about 20 mins. Reception staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are a good size , comfortable, very quiet and super clean. Would definitely return…highly recommended 🌟🌟!

There's no shower curtain, so water keeps leaking to the floor when you take a shower. Towels are not very clean and have stains.

A ripoff? A horror story? Or just a major inconvenience?

    rating09 Jul 2025

At 230+ € the night, with good reviews (and a score of 8.4 on Booking) you would think that you can't go wrong staying at this property. So wrong indeed.Where best to begin? Shall we speak about the several automated and out of context email communications, acting as I had not already provided all my information through Booking, and pressing me to give my email address and paying for the night in full (which was already set to be on-site through Booking)? You know what? I am an obliging guest. Since it seemed to be important to the management, I decided to pay upfront and settled the bill 4 hours before our check-in.Shall I mention that, on the day I made the reservation, I had sent a nice and polite message to enquire about quiet rooms with a view on the castle - only to see that I would get no answer and be allocated a room on the courtyard, noisy with the airco split systems?Shall I talk about our arrival (with prior mention that we would be using the parking garage but without having received any answer)? I pressed the interphone by the parking door and was told to leave the car and go to Reception first... A first, indeed, as no other hotel had ever had that impudence! So I got to the Reception. And what happened? If you remember, I had paid for the room... but the Receptionist told me that it was not the case, and "I would have to pay for the room". Since I was tired and I didn't want to pick up a fight, I let it slip and politely declined, deciding on just... waiting patiently for things to change. Waiting for a few minutes miraculously fixed the problem indeed, as the person at the desk suddenly "found it" (My card? My payment? Not sure - was not told). In the end, I did not have to pay twice, that's for sure. But then, the disappointment continued. You see, for 230+ € per night, you'll get only 60 € worth of cleaning (hair on the wall above the bathroom tub, clearly not mine...), preparation (wall-mounted shower gel container completely empty and no individual doses available, too expensive probably...) or repair (dislodged fixing rod on the floor between rooms, anemic sink drain lever...).Fortunately, the bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning was working well and quite silent too (a very rare feature, so kudos for that!), and the breakfast really good and varied. But again, overall that's worth 60 €, not the quadruple.Well-rested, it was time for the checkout. Nothing could go wrong any longer!I was so wrong again. This is when Reception informed me that I had to pay for our children's breakfast because Booking had not properly communicated with them and "Computer Said No". I immediately messaged Booking but since these things usually take hours to solve, not seconds, I also had to make a 20 EUR additional payment to the hotel. Appalling. Will not come again, having been so much happier pretty much anywhere else all my life. Kindly suggest you to do the same, and let this establishment close its doors in peace.
