  Nice, quiet and easy stay

  We, 2 adults, 2 kids, booked one night just for an overnight stay on our way back. The location is conveniently located off the highways (appr 15 min) in a green lush area of the university of Saclay. Check in was quick and the receptionist very welcoming in French or English. Our appt room had a separate living room with a double bed and in the living/kitchen room another large couch/double/bed. The appt was clean and pretty spacious. The surroundings are nice, clean and safe like in the country side but very close to Paris (45 min by RER). Places for dinner are in close proximity albeit you would need a car.

  Far out in the countryside!

  Apartment hotels come in all sizes. The one we had chosen in Bures was just close to the relatives we were going to visit and the recommendations were good. Choosing a hotel at Christmas time can be an experience: will it be almost empty - or even closed without giving due notice? We have experienced both. Residhome Apparthotel was open and with several large groups staying there in addition to other guests, it felt quite busy. The room was spacious, a little run-down, the breakfast was over-priced but with a very nice staff, the TV only partly worked and without a car you have no chance to get to nearby restaurants. The staff was not the most attentive. But for just a bed for a couple of nights, we enjoyed the stay.

  The rooms are clean and easy if you have to stay in Orsay. That is the only positive comment. Now, let’s go with my experience. The staff in the reception look nice in the beginning but they are not. I paid the month of my stay in advance with a special price because a long stay. When I had to leave, the staff asked me to pay 540€ more (they told me something about an informatique issue with the money I paid and the price now was bigger......are you really serious?..)They wanted to cheat me, their intentions were clear, but they could not, after one hour of discussion. If you are a foreign they will try to cheat you, so be careful.For sure, I will never come back.

  The place is nice and I was so happy to get to a green place, which was quiet. However, you have to get there somehow. And this is quite a challenge, especially if you have luggage. They do have shuttles to the station Le Guichet, but you have to book these 22 hours in advance and they only go to the station four times in the morning between 7.00 and 8.30h and from the station four times in the evening from 17.00-18.30h. This is certainly not a big help. The station Bures sur Yvette is closer (1.4km) but you have to go both uphill and downhill and half of the way you have small paths without asphalt which makes it difficult with a heavy suitcase, especially if it happened to rain before.The rooms are small, but they kave a kitchenette, which is nice. However, I only used the fridge because there was no food store within the next 2km.The breakfast is at the minimum of ok concerning selection and quality. Most annoying is the staff in the breakfast room that is constantly hectically running around refilling things, tidying up, ... . I'm not entirely sure what they did exactly and I have never experienced this before.The wifi is reasonably good and stable.They don't clean the room while you are there, at least not, if it's only a week.

  Not a bad spot, forget about getting a taxi anywhere at least 20 e that's if you can get one . Had to walk after a big feed and a rake of wine, about 30mins, from Gif, as the restaurant wouldnt call one as they said their was no point. Lovely area for cycling around, but even though the Hotel says they rent bikes they don't, so bring your walking shoes , you will be doing it alot. Hotel was clean and comfortable and breakfast good
