If you like rude people and cockroaches, this is your place!

    rating17 Jul 2022

I don't like to leave negative reviews. I believe that people deserve second chances, and I don't want to be responsible for ruining someone's business. Unfortunately, I don't think that my bad review will have much of an effect on this business, and I don't believe that the management of the hotel care if I leave a bad review.I found a cockroach in my room in the middle of the night. I let the staff know, and they did not seem to care at all. They told me because I booked the room through Expedia, I would have to ask Expedia for a refund. This was a lie. Expedia told me that it was up to the hotel to offer a refund. They attempted numerous times to reach out to the hotel, but they refused to answer.I stayed at this hotel to be near my daughter, who has a small apartment and is studying in Paris. I booked it online through Expedia, not understanding much about the area or the hotel. She tells me that if I had taken a photograph of the cockroach, that they would have done something. After my experience with them, I doubt a photo would make any difference.Obviously, I was trying to save money, and I liked that it had a kitchen so I could prepare my own food, to save money and not make an ordeal out of my terrible French. The room was a bit worn down. The sink in the bathroom had several cigarette burns on it, and the laminated wood for the sink cabinet had come apart from moisture. There was mildew and mold in the shower. The cooktop range nobs were broken and it took some time to fiddle with the to stay on. The kitchen didn't have a lot of things, like no spoons, and it was pretty clear that nobody had ever used the coffee maker, as it didn't have any filters.I'm pretty flexible and can deal with all this, but the cockroach was too much. I didn't want to risk bringing them home with me. The front desk staff did not give one @#$# at all about the cockroach or anything else. He offered me another room in the hotel, which I explained, made no sense, because it would be quite likely that many of the rooms would have cockroaches.Unfortunately, my daughter tells me this is probably not a part of Paris that many tourists visit, and I didn't get the sense that many people here speak English or read Tripadvisor reviews, so my review may not be of much use to anyone. The staff at the hotel knew this, which is why they ignored me and the staff at Expedia. I have been looking up their reviews on several sites, and they seem to be very different. I think that Tripadvisor and Facebook look like the only legitimate review sites (nobody in France uses Yelp). This whole process has helped me to realize I can't trust sites like hotels.com , bookings, com, or Expedia. Take a look at the difference in reviews of this place on these sites yourself. I should have spent more time looking into this place.I moved to the B&B Hotel that's two blocks from the Porte de Choisy metro station. It's a much nicer hotel with air conditioning, which I needed because of the heat wave. The room doesn't have a kitchen, but they offer a breakfast in the morning that's pretty good, and you can order take out food and eat in the dinning room the rest of the day. The staff are very nice, and all speak English, and there are no cockroaches!Séjours & Affaires Paris-Vitry lied to me and stole my money. They are rude, have cockroaches, and they do not care if you write bad reviews about them. If you're into that kind of thing, you should check them out.

Really bad idea yo call this an hotel

    rating02 Nov 2018

The name of this hotel is misleading, because it's a student apartment complex and there's no reception or staff whatsoever...so if you're arriving after 6 or 7 pm or in a weekend , there's is no way to get your room key, and no one in the phone will help you.

    Affordable hotel in Paris

    rating30 Sept 2018

Room was clean and kitchenette had everything you need. Grocery store below was super handy. Metro was farther than I liked and getting there was a pain since it is all uphill. I used the bus instead but that costs an extra bus ticket as bus tickets don’t transfer to the metro. As a solo female traveler I tried to return before it got dark because the neighborhood is off the tourist path. Most nights I got home after dark and didn’t have any problems but I would always use the bus which dropped you off a block away from the hotel. Didn’t chance the walk home from the metro in the dark by myself. Can hear everything through the walls and I mean everything! Affordable stay in an expensive town.

Nice view from large window but other than that?

    rating16 Jun 2018

The room was a very good size, and it was overall clean. The best things were the view through the large window on the 7th floor, that it was very quiet (despite being next to a very busy road), and that it was one of the few places in and around Paris that still had a room available on short notice. Then it just about stops there. Some people working at reception were extremely rude and off putting (note, some were better than others and one non-receptionist person who worked there even seemed happy to help!...). But upon arrival, if other places still had rooms available, I would have left at check-in because of the way I was talked to. There is no kettle in the room (don’t be mislead by booking.com). The room isn’t going to get cleaned unless you stay more than 7 days. Some things in the room are broken (reading lamp, soap dispenser, table), the shower curtain isn’t holding the water in, the shower head cannot be moved, some places are pretty dirty (curtain, parts of the kitchen). We booked a double bed but didn’t get one. So all in all, acceptable to poor or to good, dependent really on the price you pay at booking which modifies what you are expecting.

    Am adequate Paris' banlieue sleep-factory

    rating12 Apr 2018

The Séjours & Affaires Paris-Vitry hotel is located in Vitry-sur-Seine at 8.5 kms from ORY airport. The hotel was built in 2010 and offers 80 rooms over 8 floors. All rooms have a tiny kitchenette and are marketed as ‘apartments’.The hotel car parking is at € 8 and free in the avenue in front of the door. Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet. Breakfast is extra at € 8,50. The hotel is practically maintained, clean and non-smoking.Our modest ‘apartment’ was adequately decorated and furnished, with an OK double-bed. The room had a desk, TV, table & chairs, wardrobe and a well equipped kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink and cooktop. Self-catering is easy at a Conforame supermarket next door.We had a separate small bathroom with washbasin, toilet and shower. Windows can be opened. Be prepared for traffic noise in the street.Séjours & Affaires Paris-Vitry is an OK place for a short stay.
