  Excellent location, very clean. The building is poorly insulated and thus you will hear garbage trucks nightly.

  The room size is as expected for Paris. The bathroom shower was on the claustrophobic side and despite closing the small cavity tightly, the bathroom floor was always soaking wet when showering. The water pressure was low and not as hot as I would like it. Beds were comfortable. Bedding was clean and warm. The noise at night was unbearably loud for me due to constant garbage pick up. I think the windows are old and do not provide any soundproofing. Although a budget hotel, well located, clean and comfortable bed…if you value a shower and need a quiet room….this hotel is not for you.   Nothing like the pic and unprofessional manager

  We booked a double room six months ago and when checked in it was nothing like the picture. It’s dark, small, the window is facing the a back blank wall, it’s  filthy, toilet roll was half left, shampoo and stuffs are half way down. It was the day after our engagement, and we felt absolutely disappointed the moment we walked into the room. After we reflected to the receptionist, a gentlemen who was very helpful, we were told that the manger gave us one breakfast each to make up for it (we stayed for six nights and we had to move after two nights to a better room), we reflected our disappointment to the manager (an older man). And he spent good ten minutes trying to prove the point that ‘you don’t always get what you see’ rather than putting any sort of effort to make us feel welcome at all. After we insisted, he then agreed to give us the second breakfast. Despite the inconvenience that we needed to move the room during the stay, the man was holding the grudge the entire stay too - no greetings unless we greeted him first. I certainly won’t book here again if coming back to Paris but just want to let whoever wants to book here know, you don’t have a clue what you paid for (not the picture for sure).  Céline H, General Manager at Timhotel Palais Royal, responded to this review Bonjour I am really sorry to hear that your experience at the Timhotel Palais Royal did not meet your expectations, especially after such an important event as your engagement. It is regrettable to hear that the room you received was nothing like the picture presented and that the environment did not seem welcoming. The hotel's double rooms are not all identical and we cannot put a photo of each one online. Rooms are allocated according to availability. Even if you did receive a room in accordance with what you had booked, the breakfasts were offered to you.I can understand how frustrating it was when you preferred a street view rather than a courtyard view, but as a room such as you wanted became available, we were able to re-house you in it. We take your comments very seriously, particularly those concerning cleanliness, which is generally considered to be of a high standard. Your comment was immediately passed on to the housekeeper, so that we can further improve this service.I am also sorry that your interaction with "my assistant" was not as positive as you would have wished. We value customer satisfaction and strive to provide a warm welcome to all our visitors, which is generally how they feel.We hope your stay in the new room has been more enjoyable.   Loved staying at this property! Location was perfect. Walkable to the Louvre and surrounding areas. Great restaurants and shops nearby. Cute little balconettes. Hotel has an elevator, which is hard to come by in Paris! Staff was lovely and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.   Location was good, 5-10 mins walk from several metros. 10-20 mins from Eurostar depending on traffic. Restaurant bakeries and shops on doorstep. Room was clean, quiet and bed was comfy. No balcony or good view but didnt matter as we only slept there. Aircon is amazing!!!! Bathroom clean and shower/tub very decent. We were not offered breakfast at hotel but there is a bakery over the road. All staff were polite and happy.   I had the most amazing experience at the Timhotel. Clean rooms with a beautiful balcony view, great breakfast and exceptional service.
