    Dirty Hotel

    rating10 Feb 2025

Maybe this place is okay since it’s near the Louvre. But it’s not pleasant, especially if you have a child with you, because it’s dirty and cramped. The floor looks like they don’t even clean it you wouldn’t want to step on it! it’s carpeted, but you can clearly see how filthy it is. I was forced to walk around the room with my shoes on my gosh! It was so noisy and dark inside the room. The bathroom was dirty! There was a bathtub, but you wouldn’t want to soak in it because it didn’t seem clean. It was so super hot inside that we had to open the window in winter time but then it smelled like smoke, and the noise got even worse just terrible. I can only imagine what their kitchen is like. It really didn’t feel worth the price.

Bed Bug Infestation - Do Not Stay Here!

    rating12 Oct 2024

Stayed here with a couple of friends and after 1 night I woke up to my entire body covered in bed bug bites before finding several mature bed bugs in the bed.I spent the entire only full day I had in Paris in the basement cleaning my clothes/luggage to prevent bringing them home and had to freeze the remaining clothes at home for a week! The impact this had on my life was substantial, from the constant itching (for over a week!) to feeling embarrassed to have any of the bites showing in public. The floor staff were quite helpful/apologetic and were able to relocate us to another room and pay for medicine, however when head office were emailed requesting compensation for ruining the entire Paris trip, they firstly ignored my initial email before responding with an incredibly rude email (only after I emailed them again!) saying they were certain we brought in the bed bugs and would not be refunded us.I know that their claim is untrue because our luggage was placed on the opposite side of the room to the infested bed, and my other two friends who were in a bed situated between the luggage and my bed had not suffered a single bite. We were also very diligent with checking our luggage at each travel stop and had checked our bags before arriving at Hotel Tonic. The photos clearly indicate a serious infestation in that bed and it is absolutely shocking that the hotel can just try and blame the guests like this! The receptionist also mentioned they’d sprayed the room the day prior which to me indicates they knew about the problem, but also the pesticides won’t work until the bugs are drawn out from hiding again so it’s great to know I was used as the bait for this. I’m not sure why they would also let a guest stay in a room that had just been treated with dangerous pesticides. Please do yourself a favour and don’t stay here, it has been a truly awful experience which I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy. Tonic Hôtel, Autre at Tonic Hotel du Louvre, responded to this review Dear HannaWe thank you for your comment. However, we are under contract with a specialized firm to treat regulary all our rooms and corridors against all kind of insects and we can present their regular reports of the pest control.Kind regards

    Bad. Disgusting. Please avoid.

I had a disappointing experience at this hotel and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. While the location is convenient, the overall condition of the facilities left much to be desired. The property feels outdated, and I noticed flies in both the lobby and my bedroom, which made for an unpleasant stay. The elevator was extremely small, and the carpeting throughout the building contributed to lingering bad odors. My room was particularly disappointing—it was cramped, smelled musty and damp, and the sheets had a wet dog odor. The presence of flies in my bedroom made it difficult to sleep, as they were constantly buzzing around. While I understand this was the most affordable option in the area at $175 per night, I would have gladly paid a bit more for a cleaner, more comfortable experience. Based on my stay, I would not recommend this hotel. Tonic Hôtel, Autre at Tonic Hotel du Louvre, responded to this review Dear GuestWe are sincerely upset and surpised with the impressions you had of you stayOur room service is done by the professionals and on a daily basis, if there was some property issues, you should have let us know during your stay, so, fisrt of all, we could check it and, then, bring the necessary improvements if there was need.We are also surpised to read that you have seen the flies in your room, since it is not the summer season anymore and there is not in the hotelNeverethenless, we thank you for your comment and remain at your disposal for any new remarkKind regards

Great advert to book a chain hotel room

    rating02 May 2024

Staff were very nice.Horrible room; no main lights, coffee machine didn't work, bathroom door squealed, bathroom gel above bath not sink (shampoo above sink). Cracked mirror on wardrobe which contained hangers that looked as though they had been robbed. Lift struggled to contain 2 people; claustrophobics beware.Bathroom not clean.Toilet seat very loose; packets of coffee looked as though they'd been around for long time. Thermostat panel on wall was at wonky angle. Constant noise at night.Very nice bed and good location. Tonic Hôtel, Autre at Tonic Hotel du Louvre, responded to this review Dear GuestWe are suprised that you did not let us know during your stay about the inconveniences you are describing, so we could, first of all check it and, secondly, repaire the anomalies if there was.The coffee machine needs to be switched on first, with the botton on the side, you should have asked to the Reception, we would explain you. So as for lights, if there was burned bulbs, we could replaceNeverthenless, we thank you for your comments and remain at your disposal for any new remarkKind regards

    Would not recommend

Stayed here with family, 2 adults and 2 children in 2 rooms on the same floor on Thursday and again Sunday nights. On Thursday after checking in we noticed the bathrooms in both rooms were dirty. Hairs in the bathtub and crumbs on the sink. We were going out for a few hours a my husband notified reception after dropping the bags and they said they would send someone to clean. On our return hours later, nothing had been done and we cleaned the bathrooms ourselves. Beds were like sleeping on boards of wood.We checked out Friday am as we were heading out of the city for the weekend. Upon our return on Sunday evening we checked in and were assigned the same rooms. Immediately checked the bathrooms and again, horrified to find pubic hairs, and soggy paper in bathtubs in both rooms. I went to reception and the lady was pleasant however she said there was no one available to clean the rooms so presented me with cleaning products and a sponge so I could go and clean them myself! She offered me a free breakfast for the following morning however if this is their practice on room hygiene I absolutely would hate to see the kitchen hygiene so we decided against this. The following morning I found a black hair tie on the floor beside our bed that wasn’t belonging to us so clearly had not been vacuumed. Our son was staying in the room across the hall and had to use our bathroom to shower as there was nothing but scalding hot water in his shower and he is lucky he didn’t get a severe burn. I was not expecting much from the hotel for the price however there is no excuse for dirty rooms in a hotel or for expecting guests to clean up after previous guests. The only positive about the hotel is the location. It is right off Rue de Rivoli and the shops and a very short walk to the huge Westfield mall, Pompidou museum etc.Absolutely wouldn’t set foot back here though. Tonic Hôtel, Autre at Tonic Hotel du Louvre, responded to this review Dear Guest, We are sincerely upset with the impression you had of hotel and it’s services. It is as much regrettable for us that we always strived to make from our Guest’s stay a good experience. Nevertheless, we thank you for your feedback and remain at your disposal for any new remark or demand. Kind regards, Tonic Hôtel du Louvre
