  Avoid - Sneaky, Lying Managers

  We stayed here in December 2025, having previously stayed in 2022 and enjoyed the hotel. We specifically chose this property because the website advertises climate control/air conditioning.Upon arrival, we were allocated a ground-floor room. The air conditioning did not work, and despite it being winter, the room was unbearably hot. Leaving the windows open was not a safe option due to the room’s ground-floor location. We raised the issue on the first night and were advised by reception that the hotel’s main air conditioning is switched off during winter and therefore does not operate. A fan was also unavailable.We slept approximately three hours that night and contacted reception via email during the night to seek a solution. By 7am, we made the decision to leave and move to another hotel. As the booking was made through Amex Travel, the matter was escalated through them.Unfortunately, the hotel manager later provided false information to Amex, claiming the air conditioning was fully functional, that it had been demonstrated to us, and that we had returned to the room at midnight and the front desk man accompanied us to our room to show the system working - none of which occurred. At checkout, a front desk staff member confirmed that the air conditioning was not operational. Little did ZE Hotel and the manager know, we had photos, videos, and records of our interactions supporting this. Caught out lying, they were. It is disappointing, as our previous stay in 2022 was positive. However, based on this experience and the hotel’s handling of the situation, we would not stay here again. , Directeur général at ZE Hotel, responded to this review In December in Paris, the temperature is 10°C (50°F).If the heating was not working, you would not have complained about being too hot.The air conditioning provides heating at this time of year and works perfectly.Our CSR policy and French regulations do not allow us to turn on the cooling and heating at the same time and recommend a temperature of 19°C. You can adjust the temperature in your room from 19°C to 24°C.We do not appreciate receiving guests who are acting in bad faith, so I invite you to choose another establishment for your next stay in Paris. We are happy NOT to see you again at ZE HOTEL

  Did not live up to expectations but not bad

  The hotel's location is quite good - a few minutes from the Cadet metro, which gives you plenty of access to the city. The neighborhood is good, too. Many restaurants and bars, though nothing cultural in the immediate vicinity. Montmartre isn't too far away. The personnel were friendly and helpful. And the hotel was cute. Each room was decorated differently. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I was unhappy about 3 things. 1) Maintenance. A knob above the spout for switching the water flow to the shower head was missing. I figured out that I had to partially unscrew the remaining little black plastic piece in order to pull it into the proper position. The safe was broken. I was offered to use the hotel safe, but that is not what I wanted to do. The gentleman reception brought me to another room where it's safe also didn't work. Finally, he did bring me a new safe. Kudos for that and his patience. 2) I did not mind going up by stairs from th 4th floor (elevator stops there) to the 5th (top floor). However, I did not get the room I paid for, at least in my opinion. I chose a 21 meter room with a queen bed. The room was smaller for sure and the bed was a full/double. Maybe it was my fault because in the special requests, I asked for an upper floor with a street view and smaller was what they had. 3) A minor thing - breakfast could have been a little more extensive for a served one. Ze Hotel doesn't offer a buffet.

  Great place to stay in Paris

  Fantastic place. Very cosy rooms with very comfortable beds and cushions. Ideally located, close to Montmartre and Opera, with several metros nearby. Quiet even though central. Super friendly staff. Very tasty breakfast. My son was tired after New Year’s Eve and the staff kindly offered to prepare a take-away breakfast for him :-)

  From my first morning in Paris. this adorable little hotel exceeded my expectations. Though my arrival was several hours before check in, Rose at the front desk was able to expedite my room prep and kindly offered croissants and coffee during a brief wait.Throughout my week long and first- ever trip to Paris, I looked forward to returning to my quiet room at ZE. Yes the rooms are a bit small but this is on par for Parisian hotels. The location is excellent, close to several subway stations, and shops and restaurants abound in the lovely neighborhood of Montmartre. It’s also just footsteps away from the Basilica of Montmartre and Moulin Rouge.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  Beware of misleading practices

  Beware of misleading practices. The hotel advertises "free cancellation" until the day before check-in for an extra fee. It also offers the option to pay at the hotel instead of in advance. After booking, management will email you and say that no, free cancellation is only until 21 days before checkin, and that you must pay immediately to confirm your reservation. They are discourteous and a bit shady, so take that into account. Such policies are fine if disclosed, but don't trick and mislead your customers — be upfront and honest.
