This hotel was so cute and charming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very cozy, and included a towel warmer which was wonderful in December. The walk to petit France was not too bad, it was about 1 mile and took us 29 minutes. The hotel is also only about a mile from the main train station. I would definitely stay here again.

Never Again

We stayed at this hotel for one night a few days ago: 2 rooms (132 and 133), 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a dog. I honestly don’t understand why this hotel gets such good reviews. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful, the ground floor reception and restaurant were spotless, breakfast was nice, and the coffee was excellent. But the problems far outweighed the positives. The rooms were tiny, as were the bathrooms. The lift was so small it could only fit one person with a suitcase (thankfully, we were on the first floor). Both rooms stank of old, filthy carpet. The mattresses were completely worn out and collapsed, making it very hard to sleep, making creaking noises throughout the night. We all woke up aching. Worst of all, the showers and wash basins were covered in black mould. Disgusting, and unacceptable - it's obvious that maintaining cleanliness is a major challenge for this hotel. The paid nearby parking was terrible: an underground facility in a property around the corner. It was dark, dingy, and in the morning I found my car completely surrounded by a large puddle, soaking my shoes and socks (it was dry the night before). And although the staff were pleasant, upon checkin, I was refused use of their luggage trolley - apparently it’s just for display, just standing there at the reception. That’s simply unacceptable. It’s clear management thinks it’s fine to charge guests while expecting them to sleep in smelly rooms, shower in mould, and deal with dreadful parking. Never again.

Average stay, but probably better elsewhere

Stayed here with family for 2 days during the Christmas market season. The hotel is not far from the train station, but the location is not the best - real lack of places to eat around it. You have to walk 10-15 mins to go anywhere good. Room was clean and had requisite amenities, but the entrance into the room was awkward, especially with luggage (which there was no real space to store). The bathroom sink was also very awkward to use for washing the face since the faucet protrudes too far right over the sink. There was a thermostat on the wall, but apparently it doesn't control anything - we had to ask the staff to help and they pointed out there is a radiator that you can dial up or down. Would have been nice to know at check in. Otherwise, it was fine. Breakfast was decent.
