  We really enjoyed staying here

  16 Jun 2025

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, double room was clean and bed comfortable, Shower plenty of hot water and it had a safe.Breakfast was buffet style and there was plenty of choice every day.We found the hotel location was perfect to walk into the city, catch a tram or bus to travel around further.Lastly there were many restaurants to eat in near by so for us it was a perfect choice and we enjoyed our 7 nights stay there.John & Sue Norfolk UK

  Not my favorite location

  09 Jan 2025

The rooms is this hotel were small, but the bathrooms were even smaller. The location is fine for public transportation or walking around. The location is awful for grabbing a bite to eat close to your hotel. The closest coffee shop was a 20 minute walk (early in the morning) and there were not any dinner places open until much later in the evening. Sébastien Denys, Propriétaire at Hotel Couvent-du-Franciscain, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for your feedback.Regarding the room size, our rooms are consistent with the standards for the region, and the dimensions are clearly listed on our website to provide full transparency before booking. As for the location, we're a bit surprised by your comment. Strasbourg is known for its vibrant dining scene, with many restaurants typically open until at least 10 p.m. As for the coffee, in fact, there is a coffee shop directly across the street from the hotel, which should have been easily accessible for a morning visit. And as the city center is 5 minutes of walk from out hotel's position it seems far to walk for 20 minutes only to get a coffee that could have been more than accessible in a 10 minutes of walk radius. We hope you enjoyed other aspects of your stay in Strasbourg, and we’d love the opportunity to welcome you back in the future !Best regards,Elena

Warm and friendly staff in a nice comfortable hotel

  13 Dec 2024

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We came to Strasburg to visit the Christmas markets. This location was between five and 10 minutes walk to each market and also was close to lots of shopping and restaurants. And a five minute taxi ride from the train station. The hotel rooms are small, but the bathroom was nicely updated with a large shower combination tub. We had plenty of hot water and water pressure for a nice shower. The towels could use updating -they were a little flat. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens We enjoyed breakfast there one morning. It was a nice buffet With items such as Charcuterie, cheese, yogurt, fruit, breads, cereals, coffee, juice The best thing about this hotel was the staff. Everyone we talk to was kind and helpful and warm and friendly. If we decide to come back to Strasburg, I would definitely stay at this hotel again Sébastien Denys, Propriétaire at Hotel Couvent-du-Franciscain, responded to this review Dear Mrs.Susan,Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and had a great time exploring the Christmas markets in Strasbourg! It’s wonderful to know that you found our location convenient for both the markets and local attractions. We're also glad that the room and updated bathroom met your expectations, and that you enjoyed the comfort of our beds and linens. We’ll certainly take note of your comment about the towels. We also thank you for your kind words towards the staff !We'd love to welcome you back whenever you return to Strasbourg!Best regards,Elena

Don’t judge a hotel by its carpet ??

  13 Sept 2024

Very very tidy and clean hotel. Breakfast is beautifully presented and it shows that great care is taken by owners and staff alike. All friendly and helpful. Our room was on the small side, would be the only negative comment I’d make but the high standard of cleanliness makes up for it. Very central location and would defiantly use again. Sébastien Denys, Propriétaire at Hotel Couvent-du-Franciscain, responded to this review Dear Sir, Madam,We thank you for your very positive feedback concerning your experience in our establishment! We are glad to see that you enjoyed your stay with us. We thank you for your appreciations regarding the cleanliness, the breakfast and the staff. Hospitality is one of our priorities ! Look at my picture and avoid

  12 Dec 2023

The picture says it all. Please just look at my picture and avoid the hotel I paid just €200 to stay in a room that I struggled to stand up in . Dirty filthy carpet freezing cold . The staff at reception were nice but again when you see the room you will see why review should be -1 Sébastien Denys, Propriétaire at Hotel Couvent-du-Franciscain, responded to this review Good evening Sir, Madam,We thank you for your feedback concerning your experience in our hotel. We apologize that you did not enjoy it fully, you had indeed the smallest room in our hotel. We can find it some architerctural charm since the beams are typical of Alsace, but we do understand the point here. Unfortunately the prices are the same in Strasbourg in the period of Christmas market for similar sizes. We thank you for your kind note about the staff as it is a priority for us to be convenient. We hope to welcome you again with a room that can fit your expectations better !Best regards,Elena
