  Standard of cleanliness in the room needs a lot of improvement.

  Before I retired I was a hotelier. The room maid ignored the standards required in a hotel room I found 13 points that were not normal. Dust everywhere and if you don’t believe me ; look under the bed-the dust is in lumps. Dust on the kettle tray and the bed head, even the TV remote was dusty. The hairdryer was so dirty from hundreds of hands I didn’t dare to touch it. Mould was all around the base of the shower room. The sink had weird marks around the rim. On the wall around the there were marks from previous occupants and could have been removed (I tested some)The mirror was tired. The TV kept going off after 20 minutes. If there was a timer, I saw no instruction how to stop that happening. I stayed in this hotel a few years ago and it was more sad than now. ( there was a safety box that didn’t work) so I imagined the hotel had been renovated - hard to notice. Reading your review, one could almost wonder whether we are talking about the same hotel.I am even more surprised as you mention that you were once a hotelier yourself. You therefore know the realities of our profession. This is why I regret that you did not take the time to speak with our team during your stay. Our reception is available 24 hours a day, and we would naturally have taken every necessary step to investigate your concerns, offered you another room if needed, and immediately corrected any shortcomings. I find it unfortunate that a fellow hotelier would choose to publish such a detailed list online rather than first giving colleagues the opportunity to address the situation.Regarding the condition of our property, we are a family-owned independent hotel that has been welcoming guests for generations. A complete renovation is indeed planned in the medium term. However, unlike large hotel chains, we finance every investment ourselves. Unfortunately, money does not simply fall from the sky, and we have chosen to improve our hotel progressively while remaining open and continuing to welcome our guests under the best possible conditions.Every traveller has different expectations. Some appreciate the charm, authenticity and personalised service of an independent hotel, while others naturally prefer the perfectly standardised environment of large international hotel chains. We fully respect both approaches.As for us, we remain proud of our hotel, our team and the work we do every day to welcome our guests with professionalism and genuine hospitality.Kind regards,célineowner

  Unexpectedly good, beside the railway station: we'll be back.

  We had walked by so many times when we lived nearby - usually ending up in the bar on the corner while we waited for our train - but never went in, let alone stayed. We needed somewhere dog-friendly while revisiting our old haunts and stayed based on the good reviews. And it was good. Staff were great. It was a bit quirky but .... Food was good too. Being right beside the train station made it great for traveling to Gaillac and Lisle-sur-Tarn. Let's put it this way: we'd go back if we were in the region again.   Excellent location, helpful staff, delicious breakfast with freshly squeezed orange and delicious muesli. Simple but comfortable standard room. Nice atrium and courtyard to sit out in.   The hotel has parking literally a few doors away which is a blessing in a city. They send the codes to access the gates beforehand which makes it very easy. The place looks like some rundown big garage but there are pigeons inside so the cars get very dirty. In terms of rooms, we had a good room but the bathroom is very small. They can also do with a couple of harder pillows. There is a lift but still 4 steps to haul luggage up before you get to it. Breakfast is basic but good. Staff is nice and polite. Place is clean. The area it is in is not too great.   Charming and friendly hotel near main station. Especially god for cyclists. Great breakfast.

  Charming and friendly hotel near the main station and walking distance to centre of town. Housed i n an old building it exudes atmosphere. The breakfast is really exceptional with organic and home made choices, and can be taken in an inner courtyard in fine weather. They were especially helpful to us with storing our bicycles and baggage. Highly recommended.
