  Ageing - and not very gracefully.

  We all know that a Campanile is not the Hilton. It's a 'hotel' chain operating at the lower end of the market. So we didn't have high expectations. Good job really, because we would have been very disappointed.In it's favour, it's right next to the autoroute so easy to find and access. On the other hand, the the cul-de-sac road it's located on is used as an overnight parking spot for heavy goods vehicles. The reception staff was pleasant and efficient. I can't think of anything else to say in its favour!No food that evening because the chef was off! In the room, the head of the shower was missing, the plug in the handbasin was missing, there was abundant black mould throughout the bathroom. The two towels provided were stiff, hard and grey with age. One (very thin) pillow each. Just two electrical sockets, so don't expect to use your laptop, or charge your phone while watching TV!Time to get yourselves sorted out, Campanile. There are much better hotels in the same price bracket.

  Not a pleasant stay

  Location was very handy for motorway access.Our first room had a broken toilet seat, the second room had a grubby floor and the bathroom ceiling was mouldy and smelt dank, the shower rail only fixed at the top.not a good start. On a better note, the bed was comfortable and the sheets clean and crisp. We had a good breakfast

  This place needs to up its game as there is a Première Classe Hôtel adjacent to it at almost half the price per night. We only stayed for one night. The room itself had seen better days but the bed linen was clean and of good quality. We had a welcome tray of tea and coffee wit biscuits and we were grateful for this.The large shower room had a toilet that was so high off the floor that you almost needed a step up to use it! There was plenty of hot water to shower with but the towels were diabolical with one of them appearing to have dried blood on it. I used our own towels from our suitcase.The area around the Hotel is very quiet considering that it is next to the A20 and the cul-de-sac road used as an overnight parking spot for heavy goods vehicles. We did not have dinner or breakfast at the Hotel. We bought pastries and bread from the large Boulangerie on the roundabout on the way back to the motorway. You can also get coffee here.All in all this Hotel is very convenient due to its location but more attention to detail is required especially with regard to the upkeep of the facilities.

  Disappointment

  The restaurant was not available for evening meals because the chef was on holiday! It was a busy weekend and the booking was made in January for us as for other delegates attending a convention nearby. We travelled from far away and do not know the area well, so we were relying on the restaurant being available and were not informed that it would not be prior to our arrival. We would have cancelled and found alternative accommodation if we had known.

  My wife and I was on our way back home from Spain and decided to eat for lunch and having used Campaniles before and enjoyed their self service buffet I asked my wife to find the nearest after Toulouse and still open before 2.00. My wife located Montauban which was ideal by the motorway and having arrived there at 1.30 we entered the hotel to be told we could not eat lunch as they had given the restaurant over to a business meeting... Too late now to find another so we drove across the road to a sandwich/patisserie which thankfully was excellent.
