  Do you ever visit somewhere after reading all the reviews and it's like you've entered a Twilight zone since the reality is so far removed? This was our experience in L'Initial.Having checked all the reviews and checked everything on their own website, we decided to book a stay there for one night on our recent trip to France and since it was a belated honeymoon, we opted for the Suite. So full of expectation we arrived after a long drive, firstly the Hotel is in an Industrial area with nothing around except factories. Not great but we thought, at least the Hotel with it's pool and lovely restaurant will make up for it? You know what happened to thought! We checked in and went to our "suite", the suite was a room with disabled access so basically an accessible bathroon. So off we went to reception. Turns out they don't actually have a suite but call this one. They offered instead a superior room, basically a slightly bigger room but on a par with a normal room really. The difference in price was €10 less and we preferred this so opted for it and settled in. They offered us a complimentary drink, i thought, for the inconvenience, turned out on checkout this was the difference in price so not complimentary at all, we paid for it ourselves! Ok, we thought, room is fine so lets have a drink and a nice dinner, the website showed 2 menus, a bar one and a restaurant one that boosted up the chef's abilities. Great we thought, let's go for that one so asked for the menu, we got the one that the website showed as the bar menu with a choice of 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts. Back again to reception for the restaurant menu to be told that was it. Not fancying beef or pollack, we decided to walk around and see if we could find somewhere to eat. 45 minutes later, in 35 degree heat, we gave up, nothing was open so we trundled back to the hotel Not wanting to stay there we jumped in a taxi to the centre of Toulouse (Only €40 each way!) and had a lovely meal in La Florida in the square.We slept well in the hotel and thought maybe breakfast will be great - again, that wishful thinking! We got a buffet with stale croissant, carton orange juice and curled up cheeses in the cold cabinet. The lady on reception made the mistake of asking did we enjoy our stay - seriously lacking in awareness since she'd checked us in.I will give them a couple of positives, bed was comfy and car park was spacious and safe, that's where it ended though - website totally misresprents the hotel, no suites, no restaurant menu, pool cloudy, in an industrial estate with nothing around it andf guess what the reason for all the mistakes on the website was Covid! In our hotel, as explained when you checked in, these rooms are also equipped for wheelchair access but remains Suite by the size and the amenities such as complimentary coffee machine and bathrobes.Nonetheless, we offered you to see another room that would meet your expectancy, espacially the bathroom and made no trouble for you to change rooms.There were some misunderstanding coming from our website that wasn't up to date and we did apologize for those and made the necessary changes straight away.At the time of your visit, our restaurant could only offer the Menu du Jour which is elaborated by our Chef everyday with fresh produces. In our restaurant, we favor quality over quantity. This is why our menu is limited but the meals we serve are tasty. Concerning breakfast, note that our croissants are cooked every morning on site.Concerning the location of the hotel, on our website, a map is available to locate the hotel and it is mentionned that we are 25 minutes away from the train station which is in the city center.We try to give as much information at the desk upon check in and our staff is available 24h/24 to answer any questions or give any recommendation. We are saddened to read that you did not feel like asking any of our staff members for help.Finally, I was not lacking of awareness when I asked about the remaining of your stay but tried to be thoughtful as I did remember very well your arrival.   Perfect business hotel

  We had an excellent experience in this hotel, from meeting rooms to meals to kind staff and wonderful facilities. Even though located in a business area, there is enough to explore and have a good time during business days (bar, pool, top quality restaurant).   Very good ratio between quality and price. Personnel very kind. Very good restaurant with a very large choice among different very good foods. Complete breakfast with many choices. Room large enough and silent. Bedy very comfortable

  Great Location Out Of Town

  Work trip so this was great find. Our of Town but had big pool, outside eating / bar. Rooms great very clean. Food lovely with basic menus to more refined choices all at great value prices. Local wines (Very good value). Great welcome from friendly front of house / waiting staff.

  The think that more surprised me is the incredible amiability of the workers and specially in the reception and restaurant, they are always ready to propose you solutions and ideas, really a key fact for me and unfortunately not very used to it. A second aspect is that at nights it is very silent and the bed very comfortable and wide. Also, even though they have a short menu the food is quite good. Decoration at the lobby and outside garden is nice and at the rooms is acceptable but not impressive. The room (at least mine) I consider it too small and when I entered first time smell due the fact that was closed for few days I guess, I think that they need to ventilate periodically even if they are closed. In general I consider it a hotel to pass-by, more for travelers coming for business rather than tourist coming to visit Toulouse.
