    Excellent experience during a challening time for us

    This hotel delivered for us during a challenging time. I had unplanned emergency surgery while on a trip to Toulouse. My partner dashed out from England to be with me and was recommended the hotel by a doctor at the hospital as it is a short walk and cable car distance away. The hotel staff were extremely sympathetic and helpful as we were navigating a new experience - Florent on the front desk in particular. The hotel is modern, well planned and organised and the room we had was comfy and immaculately clean. The restaurant and room service has a limited but excellent menu. The outdoor terrace with views to the lake which was full of croaking bright green frogs was a great place for my recovery to start. Couldn't fault this hotel - and we're currently staying at a flagship hotel in the same chain in Paris (Paris Pullman in Montparnasse) and the service is not a patch on the Toulouse Mercure Sud. Well done and thanks team.

    Great staff and very good location

    We had appointments at the Oncopole in Toulouse and booked at the Mecure Toulouse Sud. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Oncolpole. We arrived late morning much too early to check in but were offered a coffee in the lounge. After our appt we came back and our room was available an hour before official check-in. The lobby, lounge and breakfast area are immaculate. We reserved a room that had bathrobes, slippers and a Nepresso machine. The room was well appointed, a large shower and plenty of counter space. There is a bar and breakfast area but no restaurant, so if you don’t have a car you’ll need to take a taxi to eat on the weekend. There is a restaurant right next door but it’s closed Friday night, and all of Saturday and Sunday.The buffet breakfast was quite good with a selection of meats, cheeses, eggs, fruit and various bread & pastries. There are coffee machines and a lovely selection of bespoke teas with teapots. There is a selection of mini meals available for lunch or dinner if you’d rather not leave the hotel.The staff went out of their way to make you feel special from Wafa who assisted with breakfast to the gal at the front desk who offered us water for our drive home. The hotel is also located a 3 minute walk from the téléphérique a cable car that links to Rangueil Hospital and Paul Sabatier university campus. There is very good bus service available right outside the hotel grounds. Although a bit away from the center of Toulouse it is definitely a very good choice for being south of the city.     Very noisy air con : insomnia

    Air con in this hotel has a real problem : extremely noisy all night (loud pump starting from time to time). The thermostat, of a dark age, can't help.And you can't open the window to shut down air con: concert of frogs around the hotel is even louder (true story !).Next morinng, not a surprise for the staff, friendly though. And compensation proposed for insomnia was very disappointing.So either you check that you are given a room with no pump (there are) or you stay away from this hotel if you want to sleep.     Nice Mercure a bit out of the ordinary

    The hotel was nice with everything you can expect from a Mercure. The room was simple and had all amenities as you would expect. The design is a bit specific but I found it nice.     Always so nice to be greeted by name, and this time to be able to eat in the dining area for the first time in so many months, take an apero in the lounge and indeed, not have to eat in my room. Such a useful location also.
