  This Hotel is Deserted and Dangerous

  WARNING don’t book this hotel if you stay up passed 9pm I booked this through Hotels.com on Friday on my way driving back from a trip to the South of France at the end of Sept . 1 room cost £158 . I picked it due to the Tesla chargers which are excellent I arrived just before 11pm on Sat night to find the hotel completely shut up and deserted . Just 1 car in the car park and no instructions on late arrival check in or information . I phone the property but no answer Eventually I had to give up and drive an hour to another hotel. Only then did I notice on a post booking email from the aggregator a check in time of 4pm-9pm (5 hr window) - never known a 4 star hotel in a city close it’s doors and 9pm! I contacted the hotel by message on Sat night and again the following day asking for a refund. On Monday I received a email reply stating they had tried to call me and left a message (no evidence of any missed calls on my phone) and therefore they couldn’t offer a refund.Clearly this hotel is not suitable for business travelers and shouldn’t be listed on booking sites . They need to make their (insane) policy of not being open on Sat night clear before booking .I would also be very concerned that if you stay here everything shuts at 9pm with seemingly no staff on site . Not offering a refund and leaving me stranded . Avoid at all costs (in my case over 200euros) .

  Such disappointment

  Have used this location for charging a Tesla twice before booking at stay. The hotel has all that you would expect for a fantastic stay. Booked a superior room in the chateau. On arrival whilst checking in we discovered that the hotel has no restaurant!! It does offer gourmet meals in kilner jars.Local restaurants nearby but on a Sunday night it was likely to be a hunt around for one that was open. We were then shown to our room and led toward the annex, I called the waiter back and said we booked a superior room in the chateau which we were eventually shown to.Lovely room beautifully furnished, however, the shower controls were stuck on very hot and took two hands and a real struggle to turn down.It was 30C outside and the room was hot, the air conditioning was weak and ineffective and never achieved anything like the 21 degree C target.Our stay was saved by an excellent breakfast, however, our check out was delayed as the receptionist was cooking a clients eggs for breakfast and could not leave the kitchen !!Excellent hotel with poor service and insufficient numbers of staff and without an in house restaurant the lack of service offering to the excellent rooms is a major draw back.

  Supercharge while having fun in a beautiful location

  We stopped at this hotel to charge our Tesla. It was a fantastic experience: great service, fantastic decoration, food excellent. Will come back and stay to visit the wineries of Vouvray. The hotel is located near the troglodyte houses and in the midst of the white wine called Vouvray. Tons of great wineries around. A must stop.

  Stayed here with a friend and while the venue itself is gorgeous, the rest of it isn't great for a girls trip. The rooms are all kind of kinky....lots of black and very dark lighting. I couldn't see my own face well enough in the bathroom mirror to do my makeup, I had to stand by the window with the mirror to see anything. Very light staff- and most of them do not speak English. I tried asking for an iron/ironing board and after talking to several staff who said they were working on it for me, it never came. Also, apparently not every room comes with a shower- so watch out for that, you may just get a tub. The shower in my room didn't have any place to put your soap or shampoo so it had to go on the floor of the shower- not ideal! There's no restaurant in the hotel, and no restaurants walking distance. So if you don't have a car, your best bet is to order room service to the terrace, which is a very limited menu- but the cheese board is very good. The video on the website implies you can see views of the Loire river from the chateau- but unfortunately there is only a view of a children's water park below. This place is more suited for couples who are traveling with a car.

  Stopped here because it has Tesla charging station in car park. Walked up to hotel and looked around and decided to stay. Location is absolutely stunning...go for a walk along the river in the evening. No restaurant on site so can't give 5 stars
