Location

The hotel is situated on a quiet side street at the heart of the city and, thanks to its central location, provides a good point of departure for daytrips to the many castles in the Loire Valley. A cathedral is also situated close by and public transport departs from stops located just minutes from the hotel. The lovely rooms in this modern hotel are all named after famous musical composers.

Facility

54 rooms, including 6 suites and 28 double rooms, are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     Nice hotel but feel advertised price was misleading.

    We booked a room here last minute while driving through France. Room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and there were excellent breakfast options.We did have an issue with the price however, we were looking for a hotel with parking and were attracted by the hotels online advertised price of €98. However €145 was deducted from my card when I confirmed the booking and there was an additional charge of €17 at check-in. This was explained by the way of taxes, service fees and parking. I feel the advertised price was misleading.     This hotel is well located to the Tours train station, being a few minutes walk and not that far from the old quarter, although it would be at least 20 minutes walk. The rooms are spacious enough with AC, although we found the AC wanting! There is a small gym which I made use of, good if you need a bit of extra exercise like myself. Bikes are easily parked in the garage below with a lift from there. There is a small supermarket just around the corner which has most things. Breakfast was adequate but can be congested when it is busy. Staff were very pleasant and helpful to deal with. The first night we stayed here the shower flooded badly. It just wasn't draining away. It even soaked the carpet. We did the best we could but it was a plumbing problem. We did like the water filter in the lobby as it had carbonated water as well as still. All in all, the hotel is ok for a night ot two.

    Anyway, we stayed here on points for free. We arrived late due to flights, but the attendant was very polite, although all the information he relayed was thoroughly disappointing. He told us that parking was full, it was 18 euros anyway, how to park on the street, and that breakfast was 18/pp. But the room was fine, the AC worked, etc. We avoided the breakfast b/c it seemed overpriced, and there are several other options nearby. There was also a nearby laundromat. This part of town is near the train station, so not the nicest, but it was safe and clean.

    On our way to Spain we had a stop over here. Rooms with connecting doors for our kids, comfy bed, AC, parking provided (with a bit of maneuvering I squeezed our M Class in the slot) and a short walk to the Center at a very reasonable price. Value for money. Friendly front desk staff with good English.

    Lock up your belongings

    Be careful with your belongings and ensure to lock everything up. I discovered my AirTag was missing after I had left the city. I tracked my AirTag to two addresses including the hotel (similar to a working pattern between a home and the hotel), advised reception accordingly and asked for help. Their "help" was to ask if anyone had seen the AirTag. Unsurprisingly, no one had.Someone had to search my bag to find it hence I am shocked at how little interest the hotel team have in helping me. I raised a formal complaint which hasn't been responded to.The hotel is in a quiet location close to the train station - just wish my stay hadn't been marred by the theft and lack of help from the hotel staff.Updated 21 August 2024Three weeks later, the hotel manager has yet to respond to my email. My AirTag continues to travel from someone’s house to the hotel but apparently this isn’t enough to identify it as dishonest staff. My advice - stay here if you must but lock up all your belongings.
