  Good stay, needs small points of attention- would stay again

  The hotel was nice, quaint. The staff was GREAT friendly however the hotel rooms are very small for a non metro area. Reception staff was great, along with cleaning and restaurant staff. We had an sait conditioning issue, however we ask and our room was changed. A more modern look, and some renovations are needed. Also access for people with disabilities are a must it’s 2023.   Good hotel - very convenient for Amboise

  A basic and slightly spartan budget hotel, with a certain minimalist French elegance. We needed an overnight stay while travelling and this was a perfectly adequate bed for the night. The location on a commercial estate is not over-endowed with rustic beauty, but there are trees and a little playground. All nice, in a functional kind of way. Staff reply to email queries and very helpful

  Very clean and upgraded hotrel since last stay. retsaurant acdeptable except curried duck had to be returned as duck was cold. Caesars salad and sardine starters verya cceptable. Good service. Exvcelelnt red chinon, but sadly normal bargain of Pommery Champagne at 45 euros not available'Very convenient for town and Chateau. good parking

  A Great Stay at the Ibis Amboise

  My wife and I stayed at the Ibis Hotel - Amboise during our fall France trip. We have French friends who live in the area and we were able to have a nice visit with them. The hotel is very well located to explore the Loire Valley and the city of Amboise.The staff, room and location are outstanding. We have stayed at the hotel in the past and will be staying at the hotel on future trips.

  This hotel has a friendly helpful staff. If you have read the reviews, you know there is a restaurant on premise. The breakfast menu there is great (on par with most other Ibis and Mercure properties we have stayed at in France. The dinner menu is primarily Italian with one or two French offerings. Unlike some reviews I read, the Pizza is very good (like in Italy good). Here are some things you should know about this hotel. It is about 2.5 miles from Amboise in the middle of an industrial park! The hotel restaurant is your only option unless you walk 1.2 miles to McDonald’s or take a taxi into town (17 Euros one way) or ride the local bus route (.70 Euro one way). We found the local bus to be a viable option - ask at the front desk for the schedule. This hotel is pretty old compared to most Ibis hotels and was remodeled several years ago. The rooms are very small (per European standard) and are clean. The air conditioning does not work well. We were in two different rooms and with the air on lowest setting neither room would cool below 29 Centigrade. The outside temp while we were there was 19!!! We complained so they moved us to the second room with still no air conditioning. The front desk looked upset and suggested we turn off the air and open the window! This hotel and most other Ibis properties do not have window screens (invented in the 19th century to stop insect borne diseases). By morning, my wife and I were both covered with mosquito bites. You should also know that it is the policy of Ibis hotels in France to switch their systems from cooling to heating - no exceptions for guest comfort. We have been staying in Ibis and Mercure properties all over France so we know them well. We next went to a Mercure hotel in Saumur and it was lovely! The air worked well there.
