    good for families with kids

    rating13 Aug 2021

Due to Covid restrictions both restaurant and spa were closed. The pool was however open. Appartment with everything functioning. The area is closed and no cars are allowed inside so good families with small kids. Reception only french speaking, but that is not really a problem

    Run down, poor service

    rating02 Aug 2019

The ‘chalets’ are tiny flats, seen better days. Our toilet broke 3 times in 2 days. The restaurant food was the worst I have had in 30 years visiting France... lukewarm chicken with strange sauce. Inedible / unbelievable for a €17 2 course meal. Broken chair and cutlery in room dirty / had to be cleaned before we could use.

Don't expect 4 star when you are paying this price, its OK, and we're used to much pricier

    rating04 Sept 2018

We stayed here for 4 nights as our Cadillac 60th Anniversary European Rally was based here. Its more a holiday and adventure camp than anything else, and if you bear this in mind, you won't have unrealised expectations. The chalets are spread widely throughout the park, and the French seemed to go out cycling (hired from the Relais?) or hiking most days and come back to play boules between the chalets in the evenings until dusk. As a large group, we had the beds made up and sheets provided on arrival, but take your own soaps/shamppos etc. No washing up liquid either, but the Supermarket is literally yards away, walkable if you want. The rooms were spacious - you could have had a party in the bathroom, good sized double bedroom, and fully equipped kitchen/diner. But there were only French Channels on the TV. We had help in and out with our luggage, having warned them of our mobility problems in advance, so in addition we were able to use a disabled parking space right next to our ground floor unit in a 2 storey block. Its not luxurious, but what do you expect at the price? Generally clean but a little tired in places. We only had one evening meal in, an awful BBQ, with no starter, no salad at all, just chicken, spicy sausage, spare ribs, fish and salted potatoes - not impressed. Breakfast was buffet and quite adequate. The bar does not seem to open very late, the pool looked nice but we were too busy to use it, as we had a hectic programme.Overall great value for the price and an insight into how the French holiday. The town itself is full of history with a good selection of restaurants. Terres_de_France, Responsable relations clients at Le Relais du Plessis, responded to this review Hello. Relax and enjoy

    rating28 Aug 2018

Usually I would have visited the area - especially as I have been wanting to visit the Loire Valley since childhood but I was in lazy mode. I just wanted to relax and chill while my son made use of the pool. The chalets are nice and clean - it was nice because they have names and numbers and are too stories high. There are quite a few amenities if you need it and a supermarket just 500 mètres away that also sells petrol or gas. I figure the nearest trains station is in Tours. The weather was great too. Have a nice time Terres_de_France, Responsable relations clients at Le Relais du Plessis, responded to this review Hello Jacquie. Thank you for giving your opinion on your stay. Look foward to see you again !

Average place - just ok for a stopover

    rating07 Aug 2018

This is an average place just ok for a stopover but that's it..... We arrived at the hotel at 4:30pm (check-in from 4 pm) and had to wait until 5:45 pm to check-in. Were offered a drink while waiting. The place is self catering but no shop onsite . This is not really a problem as there is a supermarket nearby (500m). The kitchen equipment is poor so you have to bring a lot yourself (like a sharp knife for instance!, dishwasher pads,...but ). No oven only a microwave but ok given the price of the stay you cannot expect too much either. We had to take dinner the first night (stayed 2 nights) at the hotel. This was really disappointing. 25 Euro per person for a BBQ (buffet like with entree and a very limited choice of desserts). 8.90 euro for a kids menu. Drinks excluded (and they charge 4 euro for a soft drink and 5 euro for a Leffe beer - not even in a decent glass - which is to me over the top!); The quality of the food is very average, certainly not worth 25 euro per person and very limited in choice - only a chicken or fish skewer. We paid in total nearly 70 Euros for this lousy dinner! The place is also crowded but that was not really bothering me. But if you are looking for a quiet night on your terrace...forget it. Kids a running around everywhere. The breakfast was basic but it was ok for the price. Overall this is a good budget place for a stopover with kids (there is a nice swimming pool) but i would not recommend to stay here longer than 2 nights unless you want a good base camp for visiting the region.
