Friendly staff, but a very sketchy and outdated atmosphere

    rating29 May 2026

Our one-night stay here wasn’t a completely terrible experience, but it definitely wasn’t the best. The hostel is located in a very sketchy area, and Aachen itself gave us a pretty sketchy vibe. Arriving at the property felt like walking into an abandoned apartment building. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and the older elevators worked fine, but the hallways smelled strongly of dog kibble, not sure exactly what that smell was. The room was okay just for sleeping, it was on the modern side, but cleanliness was an issue. The walls and floors were stained (attached pictures), there were oily marks on the beds, and the outdated windows were locked shut for security. In the bathroom, the shower had terrible water pressure. Towels were provided, but after my roommate and I used them, we both started itching, so we doubt they were properly washed. This isn't to say it was an awful stay, and other rooms might be better, but it just wasn’t the greatest experience for us, but for a one night stay it’s fine.

Would never step foot there again

They make you check in yourself and make the bed, the staff were kind but lied to me about my situation with a future booking that needed to be canceled. When I arrived they changed the room I have booked and put me with a literal homeless woman that kept me up all night. Long battle with booking.com to cancel my next stay there but they were too cheap to let 14 euros go away. 0 stars. The bathroom didn't have ventilation and you always hear the trains passing by and train station announcements as if you are in the train station. Worst stay of my life and I have been in thousand hostels

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with a well-organized schedule that ensured no long waiting times. The reception staff were incredibly friendly, always greeting guests with a warm smile and ready to assist with any questions or requests. The room was spotless, with fresh linens and a cozy atmosphere that made my stay very comfortable. The toilet and bathroom were also exceptionally clean, with all the necessary amenities provided. It was clear that housekeeping does an excellent job in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness.

Nice hotel, great that it is close to the station. However it can be a bit noisy at night. I can recommend
