This quietly located hotel is situated close to the Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst, whilst the historical old town and the cathedral lie just a ten minute walk from the hotel. Approximately 1 km away are the theatre and the horse riding stadium, and it is about 2 km to the Eurogress concert hall and a theatre. Düsseldorf and Cologne are both 70 km away. The hotel is located about 3 km from Aachen's main train station and only approximately 300 m from the nearest bus stop. The hotel is also very well connected to the A4, A44 and A544 motorways.

    I cannot fault this hotel on any single thing including location, parking and price.A spotlessly-clean hotel with great staff.

    We booked the hotel due to the proximity to the RWTH university. but the room size, cleaning, bed, linens, and the pillows were extremely good . The cleaning of the shower was amasing our stay was very pleasand hotel exceed the expectation . Also reception team were always helpfull and kind thank you all. Will come again.     Nice one in Aachen for a stop over

    Arrival Experience:All-Accor Gold membership is well-recognized, with a warm welcome and a complimentary welcome drink. Free parking is available, though we experienced a brief wait as the reception was unattended for a short while.Rooms:We stayed in connecting family rooms with a king and twin setup. The rooms were spacious, recently renovated, clean, and comfortable.Location:Though unfamiliar with Aachen, the area feels safe and pleasant, with easy access to car rental companies. The hotel is well-connected to the highway and conveniently close to the Netherlands. Despite being near a main road, there was no road noise.Breakfast:The breakfast offered is average, with limited German specialties (no Obazda, no Brezel, no berries, no live cooking, or omelettes). Bread and sausage varieties were also limited. However, outdoor seating by the pool is available, and the overall breakfast experience is still above average for a 4-star hotel.Executive Lounge:There is no executive lounge available.Problems:No issues at all during our stay.Departure:Billing was accurate and handled quickly.Kid Activities:There is no kids club or nearby public park for children.Other Amenities:The hotel features an open-air swimming pool.Summary:We use this hotel as a stopover when driving to Amsterdam from southern Germany. For the price of around 100 EUR per room per night, it offers excellent value. The staff is very kind and engaged, though it does seem like the property is understaffed.

    Poor hotel for coach group

    The hotel was not geared up for a coach party1). Each time the driver had problems accessing the Carpark, non space for coach to manoeuvre2). For meals we were herded into a room not suitable to seat a coach party, 48 of us were squashed in; it got very tight, noisy, hot and claustrophobic. On the 2nd morning my partner wasn’t feeling well, so we sat at a table in main restaurant; a waitress told us to move, as these seats were for paying guests only. We asked her what we were and she just told us to move. She was extremely rude.3). After the evening meals we tried to move out to the seating area around bar and reception, but most were reserved. They allowed us to sit at table in main restaurant. None of this reserved seating was used by anyone all evening. On the second evening the seating was all reserved again; we asked at the bar if someone was actually going to use it that evening; to be told it was all reserved to give privacy to a couple each evening booked in for a romantic diner. One of our party sat at one of the reserved seating and a lady bar staff went over to the table, banged her fists on the table and said get up you can’t sit here. Again extremely rude. The bar manager explained the hotel policy to us, he was the only friendly staff.4). The choice of food was limited and very bland, ran out most times.

    A very nice Mercure hotel on the outskirts of Aachen.

    We stayed at the Mercure Aachen Europaplatz for one night in May 2023. This was an overnight stop on our Journey from the UK to Bonn. The hotel is in a good location, very close to the motorway and with easy access to Aachen.Check in was quick and very efficient. The staff where extremely helpful and pleasant and made us feel very welcome. We had 2 rooms including a disabled room. Both where very well laid out. Clean, Functional and very comfortable. The disabled room was a wet room style which was perfect for my sister with whom I was travelling. Plenty of space, and well laid out. The only downside if anything was that the bed was a little lower then expected. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, the food was very enjoyable, the staff extremely helpful especially with getting a table set up for a wheelchair and overall seemed to be good value. Breakfast was included in the morning but had very limited choices however this may have been as we arrived close to the finishing time. Overall this was a very nice hotel with easy access, good parking, friendly staff, nice rooms and offered good value. I would not hesitate to stay here again if i had the opportunity.
