    Christmas markets stay

    rating15 Dec 2024

Had a lovely stay at this place. Staff were excellent. Our son who has autism and LD didn’t like the evening meal, but that wasn’t a problem Eileen who was very friendly and helpful cooked him something he did like. Thank you Eileen from Mark.. Bedrooms were basic but clean, tidy and warm, and the shower was clean and water hot.Bedding was also clean and fresh. Pillows were the best I have ever slept on, I haven’t slept that long for years.Breakfast was buffet style which was excellent and plenty for everyone. Even meal good, soup starter, especially the cauliflower one was delicious. Throughly enjoyed our stay, the only thing that would have made it better was to have tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. Thank you again for a lovely stay..

    Disgraceful

    rating10 Nov 2024

Disgraceful hotel staff ruined our Christmas we booked with shearings a few years ago. Wrong choice of hotel angry and drunk manager who physically threatened my disabled friend the coach manager had to stop the manager from hitting him. Appalling behaviour. They over packed the numbers and there were never enough seats at any of the set meals which were vile. We were made to stay in a back room for meals throughout the stay which was a depressing dump. These people should be ashamed of themselves taking all that money for such an awful experience. First night arrival no food after a 15 hour trip shocking made to feel grateful for their plates of peanuts and nowhere around to go to eat either or buy food. It's in the middle of nowhere. If shearings are still taking their customers there then shame on them. We sadly made the wrong choice others we chatted to that had come back from Holland were treated so well at their hotel at their shearings holiday greeted with hot soup etc. Shocking shocking people at this hotel. I wish I had took more notice of the reviews but I just thought people were moaning unnecessarily. Avoid Avoid.

    Excellent little family owned place

    rating11 Dec 2022

We stayed here as part of a coach trip. It is a cosy little family owned place, the room sizes & types varied, but ours was a decent sized twin, no complaints there. Breakfast was the usual continental offering, with several cold meats, cheeses, 3 types of bread, preserves, cereals, tea & coffee. Dinner was a set 3 course menu, all well prepared & very tasty.

    Evening meal revolting.

    rating21 Apr 2022

Bedroom very nice. Not modern , quite 50s but very nice. Bathroom clean but in great need of modernisation. Breakfast excellent. Evening meal dire. Served by very rude ignorant staff.Ask a question and you will be ignored whether you ask in German or English.Lots of steps in hotel. Stairs are a spiral staircase.Hotel inaccessible to guests with mobility issues. The small lift is no answer as you still need to go up 3 sets of steps. The difference between the top quality breakfast with superb staff and the appalling food and rude staff is unbelievable. Avoid this rude Hotel.

First time visit for coach tour company

    rating02 Sept 2020

As part of a coach tour we stayed at this hotel on the first and last nights on the way to and from the Black Forest. The tour company had not used this hotel before but we had a very pleasant experience for our two nights. The welcome from the owners was warm and genuine and the evening meals and breakfasts were very good. Plenty of choice and nicely cooked. The dining room tables were kept at an acceptable social distance with flowers on most of the tables. All efforts made to ensure guests were kept as safe as possible. My room was comfortable and spacious although I personally found it difficult to climb over a high sided bath in order to use the shower. However the stay was a positive experience for me. In the morning the owner came outside to wave to us as we left so hopefully this hotel will be on the tour company list for future visits.
