Location

This charming and exclusive hotel is situated in the centre of Baden-Baden, just a few steps away from all the major attractions, such as the public gardens, the beautiful casino, the festival opera house, the magnificent thermal baths, the Burda Museum built by Richard Meier and the convention centre. Guests will find a number of shops in the immediate vicinity. The French border is just a 20-minute drive away and the world-famous Black Forest is also nearby. Beautiful cities such as Strasbourg and Heidelberg are within easy reach (about 45 minutes by car) for a day trip from Baden-Baden.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1880. Guests have a choice of 11 junior suites, 2 suites, 6 single rooms and 21 double rooms located in a 5-storey main building and a 5-storey auxiliary building. In the air-conditioned hotel, guests are welcomed in the lobby with 24-hour reception desk and a -hour check-in/check-out service. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. Guests of the hotel are welcome to relax in the garden. Additional amenities include a TV room, a playroom and a library. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the mountain view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. Further amenities include an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a stereo system and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. A turndown service provides guests with additional comfort in the evening hours. A hairdryer and a telephone are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Bathrooms with wheelchair access can also be booked. The hotel has family rooms and 40 non-smoking rooms.

Sport

A sun terrace is a great place to while away the hours. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking, tennis and horse riding are available. The hotel's location is particularly ideal for skiers. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym and billiards. A wellness area with a spa is available at the hotel.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a café and a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    The room and location was very good But They were not ready to host fully booked hotel at breakfast Me and my wife and 2 years old did not find a table to sit at breakfast We were standing very awkwardly in the room non of the staff offered helpThen when we asked for help they offered that we can do the breakfast in the lounge which is a floor above breakfast room, which was unfortunate because anything we needed we had to go a floor below

    Unmatched customer service

    We feel so lucky to have stayed at Der Kleine Prinz. We intended to only stay for 1 night, but our journey to the next stop in our vacation was halted when we were robbed at the Friedrichsbad bath. Someone broke into our locked locker and stole our bag which, among other important items, contained our rental car keys (which meant our passport and luggage were locked in the car). Being in a foreign country and not knowing the language, we returned to Der Kleine Prinz where every member of the staff was extremely helpful. While navigating unexpectedly difficult communication with the rental car company, a kind gentleman overheard our conversation and immediately offered to help. After hours of unanswered phone calls and wrong numbers, this man, who spoke both our language and the native language, is the only reason we were able to connect with the right people to get new rental car keys sent to us (apparently Hertz doesn’t keep a second set of keys at the rental location—they have to be mailed through a third party). Initially unbeknownst to us, this gentleman ended up being the owner of Der Kleine Prinz, Mr. Andreas Rademacher. Andreas was so selfless, and his attitude toward making sure hotel guests have the best experience clearly carried over into his staff. For example, our professional waiter, Jason, was so thoughtful to offer me a blanket while sitting outside for dinner in the chilly evening (all of my extra clothes were locked in the car). Though I don’t know all of their names, every staff member shared this unmatched customer service. We are so thankful.     Lovely place to stay

    This is a quaint looking hotel with some lovely rooms. Each is individually decorated. It is situated less than 10 minutes from bars and restaurants and about 15 mins walk to the spas. Breakfast is included in the price. It is, however, not a great selection... But, at the same time, you're not going to go hungry!Also included in the price is some tea and cake in the afternoon.Parking is in the sister hotel, la belle epoque a couple of minutes away. Be warned, it's €24 per day!
