Location

The property is ideally located in the heart of historic Berlin, providing guests with easy access to some of the city's most popular attractions. The hotel is opposite a U-Bahn (metro) station (on the U2 line) and is only 3 minutes away from Alexanderplatz. It is 2.5 km from Tiergarten. Guests will find the nearest restaurants and bars around 5 minutes' walk from the hotel. The TV Tower and Nikolaiviertel can be reached in around 5 minutes by car or public transport, while the Brandenburg Gate is some 10 minutes away.

Facility

10 junior suites, 4 suites, 13 single rooms and 82 double rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas.     Amazing Hotel in a Central, but Calm Area in Berlin

    Minus:The internet was slow, and the window in our room couldn't be closed properly. The staff also forgot to take our à la carte orders a few times, but it was no biggie.Plus:The hotel has a really great location, just a few meters from the metro station. The staff was great, especially the breakfast staff, who looked like they truly enjoy working there. The hotel was very clean, and featured great beds and excellent air-conditioning during the heatwave. The bathroom was fantastic, with a large shower, large mirrors, and a large shelf underneath for toiletries. Additionally, the scented soaps in the bathroom smelled so good. I received one of the best RR VIP welcome gifts I've ever experienced in a room, and I got a room upgrade!The Ermelerhaus venue is beautiful. I was considering staying at the newly opened RC Hotel by the Berliner Dom, but I am so happy I chose this one because the area is so much calmer!

    I booked art'otel Berlin Mitte expecting a hotel built around strong artistic identity and thoughtful design. With a name like “art’otel,” you expect actual curation, atmosphere, and interiors that feel intentional. Instead, the entire place feels dated, cold, and strangely cheap.The interior design is honestly ugly. It looks like someone tried to force a “creative” aesthetic years ago and then stopped maintaining it. Nothing feels cohesive. The lobby, rooms, and common areas all feel tired and uninspired rather than artistic or modern.What made it worse was the complete lack of quality hospitality touches. It’s 2026 and the only snacks at reception are Ritter Sport chocolate, Pringles, Haribos and processed carb junk you could buy at a petrol station. No decent healthy options, no local products, no sense of care or taste. That detail alone says a lot about the overall experience.The whole hotel feels like branding without substance. If you market yourself as an art focused hotel in Berlin of all places, expectations are naturally higher.     Fabulous hotel, the staff were so friendly breakfast was amazing . The rooms excellent . Couldn’t fault it.     Hotel is in a nice quiet location but still within reach of everything Mitte has to offer. Located right next to a U2 station it’s easy to get anywhere in Berlin. Reception staff very friendly and efficient.Excellent breakfast. Quality produce with the option of freshly cooked egg and pancake dishes.Room was comfortable and clean.     Good as always but some improvment needed

    I’ve been staying at this hotel for several years and overall I still enjoy it, though it does feel like it has slipped slightly over time. The location remains excellent, with a subway station right outside, the rooms are nice, and the beds are very comfortable.There are, however, a few changes I’ve noticed. Previously, if you stayed more than two nights and chose not to have your room serviced, you could collect four complimentary items from the small ‘shop’ – things like a beer, a small bottle of wine, crisps, nuts, snacks or chocolate bars. That’s no longer offered. The bar, Upside Down, is still a lovely space, but they no longer serve bar snacks either. Breakfast continues to be very good, especially with the option of freshly cooked eggs. However the boiled eggs that are in the buffet are always cold, not even a bit warm, but proper coldIn my room, I had a some minor issues: both desk lamps weren’t working, and there’s a large black three-metre light fixture just below the ceiling that doesn’t seem to serve any real purpose. The window handle pole, which should twist to allow the window to open, also appears to be broken. A few of the TV channels didn’t work so well, very pixelated/frozen picture that indicated it was losing signal/poor reception. Really annoying when there are only 3 or 4 TV channels in your language and the only one you do want to actually watch is the one that’s faulty!None of these were major problems, and I didn’t raise them at the time as I prefer not to have someone in the room while I’m working for the sake of small niggles. Plus, it was only a 3 night stay. That said, it does give the impression that the property has become a little neglected over the years.As a VIP member with the highest status membership, I also didn’t receive a room upgrade despite the hotel not being particularly busy, nor was there any recognition of my status at check-in. Nor was I able to get a late check out due to the hotel being “fully booked” which it wasn’t ( You can check this by doing a dummy booking on the hotel website – at least 12 rooms were available!)Would I stay here again? Quite possibly.
