  Peacefull retreat

  Just returned home after a great stay.front of house staff couldn't do enough.very helpful and friendly.Also the breakfast staff.decent mix of breakfast.bedroom OK.very disappointed with the storage facilities. Yes we were there 4 nights.We did bring plenty of cloths.like to have choice.not enough storage.also we couldn't put cooler fans on.as weather was warm to mild.rooms far too hot.Can only use cooler fan in summer.which we found odd.the bed was one of the most comfy ever.pillows exceptionally soft.best nights sleep ever.With the theme of hotel quirky in a nice way.to our liking.above all hotel pieceful and relaxing.yes would come back to this hotel.if back in berlin Sven Hartung, General Manager at Catalonia Berlin Mitte, responded to this review Thank you very much for your detailed review.   Basic hotel with rooms like saunas & expensive breakfast.

  Location ok but not much near by. However the Underground station is just over road. The Atmosphere in lobby was not great & some staff unwelcoming. The Rooms were hot to sleep in. I Had to request a room move after our 1st night. The alternative room was smaller & had a slightly lower temperature, However still warm overall. No air con in either rooms. I was told it is turned off in winter months. The rooms were clean but basic. The 2nd room had marks on the furniture & walls. Both rooms were noisy. The 1st room from busy road outside & smell of cannabis when opening any windows. The 2nd from the adjoining rooms moving, & banging. On our last morning we payed €24 euros each for breakfast at the hotel. I had checked online reviews which stated they cater for gluten free diet. This was not the case. I ended up with a bowl of yoghurt and 2 tiny frozen slices of gluten free bread, all for €24. I mentioned my disappointment regarding this, however offered no solution.   Lovely stay at Catalonia Berlin Mitte

  Loved the Hotel, big clean rooms, nice bar, warm in December, helpful and friendly staff, easy walking access into Berlin and many of its sights, and an U Bahn station very close, and another in easy walking distance.I couldn’t give it 5 ⭐️, just on the cost of breakfast, we had not preordered before we went, and to get breakfast on the day was €24 per person, we thought this was excessive, but apart from that, would highly recommend.   Honeymoon Berlin trip

  Booked here for our 10 day honeymoon for Berlin with the Christmas Markets and it was amazing. Our flight was delayed but no issues as reception were onsite when we arrived close to midnight as we emailed ahead to check. We were given a room on the 5th floor which was nice but unfortunately it had a horrible strong bad smell, somewhat like sewerage.. so we we went to get some bits at a near mini shop (off-licence) and will see if it was still there upon return and it was. I very rarely have ever complained but there was no way we could stay here for 10 days with that so we went back to reception, mentioned the issue and they moved us to 4th floor with no issues or objections and funny enough, this new room had a better view as it looked out to the courtyard and even better.. no horrible smell. The room has a mini fridge and safe, the mini fridge came in handy as there's a Lidl about 5-10mins walk away which we visited frequently during our stay. The breakfast is all you can eat for 24 Euro per person and its got everything you would ever want, plus bubbly and cheesecake! We had the breakfast on first day and last, we also tried a couple breakfast places nearby for something different. Staff were friendly and always happy to help with any issues. We picked this hotel as it was close to the train / subway routes that can get us anywhere really and was central for transport to most of the Christmas markets, some of which we even just stumbled upon while out and about. They also have a monitor in the lounge bar area that shuffles with ideas and tips for things to do, this is where we discovered a QR code for tips on some Christmas markets nearby. Overall, it turned into a great honeymoon trip and a great stay here, we really enjoyed this hotel and cannot fault it, to a point we have decided to rebook when we return to Berlin.   Birthday stay

  Visited for 5 day's for a birthday treat for my hubby. Hotel really lovely modern and spotlessly clean. Staff really helpful and friendly Ana on reception helped us navigate Berlin giving us a map and pointing out where we were to all the famous landmarks so thank you Ana. Booked bed and breakfast so worth doing as breakfast was amazing 👏 such a wonderful selection and everything and more you could want. We filled up with lots of lovely goodies including a beautiful omelette along with fresh pancakes cooked to order.Our room was really spacious and quality bedding and towels replaced daily this was kept spotless so thanks to house keeping department also. I contacted the hotel about travelling from the airport and they responded quickly with great information. It's really easy to get to and a short walk from the station to the hotel. This hotel is modern and smells delicious, the man who hoovered the reception and bar area must have something in his hoover to create such a gorgeous smell 😍 We spent 5 days here and were very impressed by the quality and standards offered by the hotel and its team of amazing people who deliver the highest standards of service to all their guests. It's definitely worth a visit if you come to Berlin. Around a 15/20 minute walk to main centre and attractions so super convenient to stay at this quality hotel. Hotel bar is very reasonable and a couple of beers costing around 10 euros is great value. This hotel is quirky and modern and is finished to a high standard. They left a gorgeous chunk of chocolate cake in our room to wish hubby a happy birthday, little touches mean a lot.
