They call it City Inn but it's pronounced Shi**y Inn

    rating02 Jun 2023

This place should just shut down. There was no one in reception ever, check-in with a code via email and a phone call. Check-out with gesture to a cleaning lady who didn't speak english at all. The building is ran down and filthy, dodgy people downstairs and at night there was a homeless old lady wrapped up sleeping on the first 3 steps of the staircase and a drunk black man always around her, the main door and the lift, I got scared a couple of times and felt unsafe and very uncomfortable, maybe that's why people who are supposed to work in reception are never around. (I wanted to take picture but I didn't for respect to her situation). The room was very basic a bit dirty, no showergel or anything else, just one towel and that's it. The draft from the big windows at night were deadly, very cold straight to your neck! That room was overpriced for this conditions and (NON) service!!! I stayed in other 3 hotels before this one during the week and they were spotless, the service was amazing and most important the price was better!I wouldn't recommend the Shi**y Inn to anyone so far.

    Just what we expected

    rating04 Mar 2020

The room looked right as on the picture. Big shower room, fridge, some cups and spoons in the room. Comfortable beds. Lamps on each bedside. Good wifi. No keys! So you are not afraid to loose them. A code entrance to the room. Great location - 3 min to metro, big shop downstairs. Minuses: - only one towel for person. - No walls in shower, so all bathroom floor was wet after taking shower. Great place for this price!

    Berlin Marathon accommodation

    rating30 Sept 2019

Chose the City Inn because of its location and ease of access to/from the start/finish of the Berlin Marathon course. I'd suggest that anyone wanting to do the same in future consider other options...Our room was north-facing, on the 22nd floor. It was cramped and poorly laid out and the shower (no bath) was 3ft off the ground and we had to put towels around the door to prevent the water escaping towards the beds, just 2-3ft away - there was no separate bathroom, just a separate WC.We had to wait more than ten minutes for a lift on several occasions - on the second morning we had to wait over 20. The staircase is a fire escape only - there is no way to exit via the stairs as you can't get back in. We found this out the hard way.The breakfast is pretty crap too. You have to pay 4e to access the roof terrace and approx 4e to leave a bag on the last day.I complained to the receptionist but was met with a weary "heard it all before" look and not even a hint of an apology. I've stayed in other hotels in Berlin and always been impressed by the service, the staff and the hotels. I'll not be staying here again.

    Clean and convenient comfortable accomodation.

    rating13 Apr 2019

Comfortable, clean quad room with large fridge . Security code instead of keys. Excellent system . Located in a residential area . Perfect for a budget weekend . Very close to the station and access to Berlin’s amazing public transport system. Never had to wait more than a few minutes for a train.

Basic accomodation offering value for money

    rating03 Jan 2019

Value for money; very clean, easy 24h access. As basic as it gets, and okay for that.Showering was just dangerous because of varying water temperature (from hot to freezing), eventually found out opening the hot water tap at the sink helped stabilize it somewhat.
