    Nice environment and satisfying services

    rating27 Dec 2016

I really enjoyed my stay in BaxPax and I would definitely recommend it to other travelers, but I have to admit that I don't have a huge experience in hostels, so I can't really compare. For sure it has the most beautiful environment out of all the (3) hostels I've been in so far, especially the common room is gorgeous. The rooms are nothing special but definitely nice and cosy. A drawback is that the bathroom isn't ensuite, but on the other side of the corridor, which is no big deal, since it's literally two steps away, but you still have to fuss about the keys every time you go to the toilet.A big advantage is the LOCATION: It's very close to Friedrichstrasse train station, which is one of the most central stations in the city. Trains passing from there can get you anywhere in Berlin. An important 'plus' for me was that the stuff was very friendly and helpful.Overall, the hostel felt clean and safe, not shady or 'cold' like other hostels I've been in, there's young people hanging around there, but it also attracts older and more 'serious' travellers. It was great for its price and if I came back to Berlin I would stay there again, or in one of the other 2 BaxPax hostels in the city!

I was there for three nights, was not too crowded the room, the bathrooms everywhere was very clean, people were very friendly and helpful. A very good atmosphere! The location is perfect! Tram busses and the Ubahn just outside the door!

Worst - virtually no wifi, no hot water, no lockers, misleading about facilities.

Do you want to stay in the worst hostel in Berlin? Than boy do i have the best place for you! You're going to love this place if:You like to have your belongings stolen - there are only a couple of small lockers in each dorm room, good luck getting one.You like to miss out on booking cheap tickets - the wifi is so poor it took me three hours to get a connection (my room mate has not been able to connect here the entire 3 days she has been here). You like 10 second cold showers - yep the showers turn on for ten seconds at a time and the water is cold (I overheard the staff say it is always cold). Speaking of bathrooms, 2 basins and two teeny tiny mirrors for a floor full of girls trying to get ready. You like hot rooms. The rooms are boiling and the window opens an inch no fan, no ac.You like to be mislead about facilities. There are no washing machines or bike hire like the website suggest. I asked and was told 'Yes we do, you just have to walk 20 mins to our sister hostel'. Sorry guys that doesnt count. (btw 8 euros to do washing - do they know were on a backpackers budget). This is the first time Ive felt compelled to write a bad review but my room mates were all as equally dissapointed and I want to save someone else from ruining their holiday by staying here. Pay the extra 10 euros a night to stay somewhere that will make your Berlin experience great. I tried to get a refund to move somewhere else but could not.

Just an average place to sleep but nothing more than that

    rating11 Sept 2016

Overall I might stay here again because of the price and the great location, but it could be so much better so easily it's annoying.Pros: - Location is just perfect, very close to museums and to the center of town, has a close supermarket etc.- Kitchen is a bit old but had anything you'll need.- Always very clean- Enough showers and ToiletsCons:- SO WARM. And has no air. It gets hots in Berlin sometimes and there is no air condition / fan. And it's impossible to open the windows all over the hostel. Most of the time it's just not fun to hang around.- Room had more beds than lockers.- Beds are very squeaky. - Wifi works only in the common area.- not enough outlets neither in rooms nor in the common area. The staff was very pleasant except in the first day it took the clerk hours to check us in because she had a very important phone call. Not so nice when you're after a whole day of flights...
