  Great stay at the H2 Hotel Alexanderplatz

  We have just come back from a long weekend in Berlin, where we stayed at this hotel.Here are the positives:It's reasonably priced and the location is fantasticThe rooms are clean, a little small, but you are not in them long, so that does not matter.The bathroom is a great size,e and the separate toilet is really well thought outThe shower is AMAZING - super pressure and really hotThe air con is quiet and the windows actually openThe staff are really friendly and accommodating, and allowed us to leave our luggage there on the last day.The breakfast is good, good choice and enough to set you on your day - eggs, sausage, beans, toast, cobs, fruit and vegetables, cheese and yoghurt etc - great coffee too.Here are a few negatives - not really negatives, but things to be aware of:The pillows are very flat, so ask for 2 - one is just not enough - we asked the cleaning staff on the first day, and she left them in our room.There is no cleaning service or daily change of towels. They mention this when you check in. You do not really need this if you are there for a few days, but again, we asked one of the cleaning staff, as they were in the corridor and they gave us extra towels. You can also get them from reception and if you want your room cleaned, just tell reception, and it will be done.If your room overlooks the main road it can be noisy, and in the summer, if you want your window open, this might keep you awake, so when booking, ask for a room that does not overlook the road.There are no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room and no fridge - this did not spoil our trip, but it would have been nice to have a coffee in the morning or keep bottled water cold.There is no chair in the room, just a stool; a chair would be a nice addition.If you are looking for a hotel in a relatively central location, close to the main attractions of Berlin, for a reasonable price,e then this hotel is perfect.10 mins walk to Alexanderplatz and 35 minutes walk to the Brandenburg Gate, along the same road. Everything is very easy to find from this hotel.I would recommend and if we ever went back to Berlin, we would stay in this hotel again.   The H2 Hotel's Front Desk performed Excellent : Were helpful with locating places amd good in the English Language. The rooms were in very good condition and within the city. IWould recommend them to anyone doing a trip within the Alezanderplatz area of Berlin. It's close to the train S9 station to Flughafen Airport and the Tourists sites in Berlin.   Cannot recommend due to incompetence / poor attitude of certain staff members

  This hotel is in a fairly great area and close to most transport links in berlin which is about the only actually good thing about this placethe rooms are tiny and doesn't even have the most basic stuff like an electric kettle or fridge, tv only in german with no possibility to even have english / other language subtitilesthe room we were in seemed fairly clean, the beds were ok comfort wise but the fitted sheet and cover kept coming off too easilythe bathroom was alright i suppose, the door was kind of weird and the one for the shower didn't seal properly which made the floor wet after taking a showerthe breakfast might not be to everyones liking, i thought it was alright to be honest,the meatball things are nice but often cold, eggs are good and the beans are fine other stuff like the yoghurt and fruit are also fine, plus the coffee machines do a decent enough hot chocolate and the juice machines have ok grapefruit juice and apple spritzerbecause of what you actually get at this hotel i think it would be worth closer to around 40eur per night or so if actual value is considered, even something like an ibis provides better valuethe main problem i have with this place is the mistake the hotel made and refuse to take full responsibility forwhen we checked in the young male clerk told us the reservation was already paid and only the city tax was leftupon checkout the asian woman clerk was very rude and told us we needed to pay 772 eur + threatened / fake called the police, which we did but even during the payment process she continued with her poor attitude despite the fact this was the hotels mistake that they need to take responsibility for, clearly no understanding of the concept of customer service.Overall very poor experience and i wouldn't be able to reccomend the place even though there were some fairly good aspects. However, we are wondering why you did not know yourself what you have booked and if you have actually paid for it already or not? In your reservation confirmation you can clearly see the note that the hotel will collect the payment on the spot. Nevertheless, we apologize for your uncomely impressions regarding the friendliness of our front desk staff wich in fact is very unusual and will be discussed. Also be aware that we are an unique and innovative low budget hotel. If you prefer the charm of a traditional hotel with additional amenities and extensive service features we would like to recommend a more expensive higher class hotel.
