  The hotel is clean and well located, close to shops and the train station. Kristen in the reception area is excellent, very polite and inviting.   I stayed three nights at "The Hotel Inn Express" in Potsdam. It is centrally located, not too far from the Train Station. One thing is for sure, they do NOT accept any cash, just Credit Cards. At the Bar in the Lobby, you can order some small meals. Nothing fancy. The Staff is friendly, and the Hotel is clean. - See my Photos.- The Breakfast Buffet has a huge selection, and the Breakfast room is very busy. I can recommend staying here.

  Comfortable hotel but has some big drawbacks

  The hotel is in a good location, being only a 15 minute walk to the train station and less than 30 minutes from Park Sanssouci. That being said, there appeared to be some kind of depot behind the hotel so every day we were woken up by heavy goods being loaded into lorries. Staff were friendly and helpful but check-in was a little slow and there was absolutely no chance of an early check-in, although we were able to leave our bags in a secure room. The rooms were comfortable but there was very little clothes storage and the AC in our room was very ineffective. The breakfast was excellent and there was a very good selection but it is badly let down by how busy it gets. Staff strongly advise you to avoid eating between 8-10am as it is so busy and they are not wrong! It was absolute carnage and there were far too many people. Clearly this needs to be managed better.   Avoid this hotel .. the staff we encountered right from the day we checked in until we left did not seem very warm. People at front desk don't do enough to manage volumes. We and several others stood in line for at least 45 mins prior to check in. Rooms are small, carpets dirty. A/C issues. Never again.   Rude and unprofessional staff - avoid!

  Stayed in this hotel for one night for a short trip to the gem town of Potsdam. The location of this hotel is pretty convenient - a 10-15 minute walk from a train station, and a couple of tram stations are also around. We arrived a bit early (around 11 am) and, when attempting to check in, were very rudely turned away with an abrupt NO (Benjamin at the front desk)! I am a Diamond member, so an early check-in is an option upon availability, but this is not an option in this hotel (it should be called a hostel if it comes to customer experience, at best). They kept our suitcases, and we were asked to return at 15:00 - the official check-in time. We were back at 14:45 and saw a huge number of people sitting in the lobby waiting to check-in. As soon as the clock hit 15:00, a huge queue all the way to the outside the hotel was formed. A complete disaster of customer experience. We actually asked if we could have a room at 14:45 and were met with another NO from a lady at the front desk this time. We were upgraded to the next level of the room, which was nice, but the whole stay was now spoiled by the experience. IHG members - watch out! Will never stay there again.
