    Odd location, Decent Hotel

    rating09 Jan 2026

It’s okay. Hotel is next to an odd shopping center, the door for the elevator is surrounded by people doing drugs all day. No idea how the hotel doesn’t intervene or at least have someone out by the door to greet given that situation. The alley in the back had some good late night food, but the area seems infested by addicts in general.Rooms were good, staff was good, just a shame and a bit shocking of a location. WEIRD AND WONDERFUL

    rating21 Sept 2025

Not sure if "the niu" brand is a new aquisition to the Holiday Inn range, but the "Holiday Inn the niu Hide" is, appearance wise, like no other hotel I have stayed in. Arriving very late at night I was wondering what we had let ourselves in for, because the entrance isn't immediately obvious (although the 'niu" sign on top of the building offered a general clue as to whereabouts) - its tucked away, set back from the road, beside the entrance to a shopping centre on Frankfurter Allee, right next to the big iron bridge that carries the railway line to Frankfurter Allee station. The entrance here is no more than some lift doors from where you take a dedicated lift to the top floor, which brings you into the hotel reception. The 'style' here looks rather like a student halls of residence with designer graffiti and hand writted signage, but don't be put off - the rooms are fantastic: pretty small, but clean, well presented, and with the most comfortable bed I have slept in for quite some time. The staff were all really helpful too. Although it occupies just a single floor, the hotel is quite big - a room in the far corner could be a good 5 minutes walk from reception! In the cold light of day I realised the hotel is actually built on top of the shopping centre car park - possibly a later addition, but that doesn't detract from the fact the hotel itself in rather nice, if presentationally quirky. Location wise, the lifts to the Frankfurter Allee U-bahn (U5) are conveniently close to the main entrance.

Good for central location in Berlin

    rating14 Sept 2025

Such an unusual hotel built on top of a shopping centre. Incredibly funky with graffiti walls and cars parked in reception. Got a very warm welcome, lovely bar area, didn’t sample food though, so can’t comment. Everything you need in the room, quality bedding and everything else you’d expect. I suppose rooms are a bit small, but if you’re just there for a sleep, not a problem. Reception is on the 5th floor and all rooms are on the same floor. Garage parking on 4th floor at 6 euros p night. The ONLY negative with this place is trying to find it! We were driving and got very stressed as sat nav said we’d arrived, but couldn’t see it! Didn’t think it was on top of the shopping centre. So if you find that, you’ll find the hotel!

Nice addition ot IHG portfolio in Berlin.

Stayed for a long weekend in this new IHG chain hotel in Berlin. Good price/quality ratio. Basic rooms with all you need for a short stay. The area around the entrance of the hotel is a bit dodgy, but nothing really alarming. Metro and tram stops are moments away which is great. The hotel is located on a single floor on top of a shopping centre and is quite spread. We had room 61 and had to do a little hike to reach it. Breakfast is also very basic. Plenty of snacks and drinks are also available for purchase either in a bar or reception. Would stay there again at the right price.

Good to be back - kind of.

Nui Hide has recently been acquired by IHG Group and now, trying to speak to staff directly at the hotel is almost impossible. Ive stayed here many times before, with no issues during booking - until now!No-one can call the hotel directly, the number just seems to hang up! Instead, IHG want you to contact their reservations line in the Phillipines, where you find out they don't have access to the same information system that hotel staff have. I had one agent from IHG talk over me several times, insisting that this process is better than talking directly to hotel staff but then kept saying - I can't access that information ! Seriously? This is a red flag for me and does not offer any kind of customer satisfaction.I had to ask someone in the Philippines to email the hotel in Berlin, as I needed to amend my booking. If you email the hotel directly, responses are very slow, which im guessing is due to under staffing or staff having to prioritise their actual guests at the hotel. As mentioned in other reviews, the free drink at the bar offer is now gone, which is a shame but obviously a cost cutting process. I don't eat breakfast at the hotel, so can't comment on value for money there.Positives: The staff are really chatty, polite and always try their best to help whenever they can. The rooms are clean and the beds and pillows are clean and comfortable. There are clearly valued customers that the staff appreciate seeing and serving, although I'm not sure I like the new IHG referencing of it's customers as 'Gold Elite' etc. A bit soulless!I was not impressed by the IHG experience when booking this hotel but seeing some familiar faces at reception and the service I received at the hotel made up for it.
