  I totally agree with a previous traveller. This is more like a hostel turned hotel. Although booking and paying for 5 nights we left after 1 night. Unfortunately the twin beds are very narrow - I’d say a little over 2ft wide so unless you bring a rotating device it is hard to turn over without falling out. The room was very small.   Dormitory for incontinent pets.

  On a main road leading to the main train station. Mitte is quite a young oriented area of the city with a range of restaurants, private galleries and stores. The overwhelming impression on arriving at this hotel was one of a dated youth hostel turned hotel. It’s a pet friendly place and I suspect some of the pet owners are not as disciplined as they might be. The lobby, the lift and the hall to our room all smelled of urine and all bore stains to match. When I asked at reception for directions to the nearest barbershop, the young lady waved her hands in a vaguely northerly direction and said they were “shops” nearby. Turns out none of the shops are barbers. The room was relatively clean (apart from aforementioned carpet stains) but looked very much like my daughter’s not so great college dorm room only smaller. Same type of finishes and furnishings. The shower room was built of frosted glass into the bedroom so don’t share with anyone who hasn’t already seen you at your worst and don’t expect any toiletries apart from the most rudimentary combination shampoo/body wash. Also, no fridge, no iron and a wall mounted “hairdryer” that burns the hair dry rather than blowing it. In case you hadn’t guessed, we will NOT be staying here again. This is not a place for the less hardy.   We were driving back from Magdeburg to Berlin as we had an early morning flight from BER. On the way. my boss asked me to check out parking at the hotel. I rang the reception and when I asked the question, was given a rude response "Check Google". On arrival, I advised that we parked on the street and I asked if it was ok in his opinion to pay up to a certain hour. His response "Check Google". He was not German but he certainly should not be employed in the hospitality industry. When I arrived separately later on that evening, I asked if it was ok to get a drink. The night porter asked to prove we were staying there and when I showed him the room card, he said ok. I decided to ask my boss but he had already bought beers from a shop beside the hotel as he was refused service downstairs by the same person (he had no alcohol taken at this time but could not speak German) I did not even say "Guten Morgen" the next morning. I left the cards and walked out. It is a pity that the service was so poor because the hotel room itself while being small was lovely and comfortable. I had a very comfortable few hours sleep. Unfortunately, it does not make up for the people working there.   Where to start…. We arrived in the room to find that the air conditioning was set so that you could not change the temperature to below 22° making the room incredibly stuffy and hot. We had one window which opened which was the length of a door to the noisy street outside (on the first floor so people could see in if it was open). The huge windows from top to bottom of the room made having the curtains open difficult as it heated the room up (there was no way to cool it down) and completely hindered any privacy however this meant no light in the room because there was only a lamp and two reading lights above the bed - no main light. The beds were extremely springy and uncomfortable and we were not given pillows but instead given a thin duvet and duvet cover folded up into a pillow shape which was incredibly uncomfortable and made sleep almost impossible. The room service was also pretty poor, all that was given was making the bed. Our towels were not changed throughout our stay and our coffee and tea were not topped up. Also, the photos on the website do not match the reality of the hotel in the slightest. However, the staff on the front desk were perfectly pleasant and helpful it’s just a shame everything else didn’t match the same quality.   It is a very nice hotel, next to train, bus and metro stations. Also 10min walk to the central station. Bars, cafeterias,supermarkets and restaurants are also withing a walking distance which is very helpful! The staff was very kind and willing to help you 24/7. They were cleaning the room everyday. We are very happy with our choice!
