    Great location and laundry service, but service and communication gaps

    We had a mixed experience at Hotel Nikolai Residence. On the positive side, the location is excellent and their laundry service is a fantastic deal—only €20 for a standard wash-and-fold bag with a two-day turnaround.However, we encountered several issues that made our stay less smooth than expected. Most significantly, the reception hours were inconsistent. While the website states they are open until 10:00 PM, we were told we had to collect our stored luggage by 3:30 PM because the desk would be closed and our bags would be inaccessible after that. This was quite stressful and forced us to cut our final day in Berlin short just to make sure we could get our luggage before heading to the airport.The room service also had some gaps. Housekeeping only happens once every three days, and they didn’t replenish the coffee satchets in the room in between those cleanings. We also had an issue where the toilet flush stopped working one evening; fortunately, it was repaired by the next day, but it was rather inconvenient at the time.Finally, the communication was frustrating. While the hotel continually reached out to me via Agoda with automated invites for feedback, they never actually responded when I wrote to them directly about our issues.Overall, while the hotel has some great perks and a good location, the restricted reception access and the inconsistent service standards made our trip more difficult than it needed to be. Given the price, we expected more reliability.

    The hotel is in mitte right across the Berliner dom within a very quiet area next to Nikolai church (oldest in Berlin) . Positives: The location is excellent for first timer in Berlin. The staff is very friendly and you can find someone at the reception between 9-17.The room was quite large for a couple and the bathroom even larger. Very very clean .Negatives: although the info says that the cleaning takes place every 3 days we were there for 4 nights nobody appears just to empty the trash can! we were not expecting to change towels or sheets the room should be cleaned at least 1 during our stay!bathroom amenities were only for 1 person.The hotel has no proper lobby just few armchairs and a long sofa just to wait for your friends or your taxi. . The room was on the ground floor looking at the back of the building( no view of a garden just garbage bins. (all rooms at this part of the ground floor face garbage bins and you wake up from the carbage collector car at 6.30 in the morning. overall the hotel is in excellent location, the price is a good value for money, cleaning issues was maybe bad luck on our behalf.

    Good location. We had a big room with "4 beds" and a balcony which was really nice. The "4 Beds" were actually 4 twin beds with two pushed together to form one bed and two folding twin beds. But, I think that the bed definition is pretty typical for europe. I think that ours was an ADA room because the shower had a flat floor rather than a tub. It didn't have AC which was a bit inconvienent since we were there is August. But, we really liked the balcony and the location. It was a quiet area fairly close to the Alexanderplatz station, which is rare. The hotel resteraubnt appears to be closed. But, there are several others nearby. Overlall, it worked very well for our needs.

    Quiet comfortable and well situated hotel

    The most important things for me when staying away from home are a very quiet location with no road noise or light pollution, a large comfortable bed and a good shower. Nikolai Residence gets 5 stars from me for all of these. Together with friendly and efficient staff, a spotlessly clean hotel, easy access to underground and surface trains, a short walk to museum island and good restaurants and cafes nearby, makes this small hotel perfect for a stay in Berlin. We were there for one week.The hotel does not do breakfasts which concerned us initially. However we were recommended to go to Alex a few minutes walk away that does the most well stocked and extensive buffet you can get, open everyday from 8am.

    I had another wonderful stay here. The late check in went smoothly. I was messaged video instructions and a code. The room was comfortable with a good sized bathroom and nice toiletries. It was good to have a kettle in the room. The location is perfect.
