  Comfortable but poor service.

  We enjoyed our stay at this most stylish hotel which is well located. But much could be gone to improve service. We were there in a Sunday. The restaurant was not opened. No one at the desk was very helpful offering suggestions. one young man at the desk just stared at his screen. Another clerk had little idea where we might eat. Another suggested an Italian restaurant and that reservations were not required. But when we arrived there were no tables. Breakfast is excellent but again service is lackadaisical. One day I gave up rather than wait to order eggs in that there were no servers in the dining room. Perhaps the staff should worry less about how to appear hip and more about customers service? One other issue: the S and M photos in the room were objectionable.

  Great stay in a cool hotel

  One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The decor in the hotel and rooms was really relaxing and cool. The breakfast was great everything you could want and cooked to order if required. Nothing was too much of a problem. Special thanks must go to Grit in Reservations who could have been more helpful when we had to delay our stay when my elderly mother fell at home. She handled the situation with calm, friendly efficiency. We just wish we could have thanked her personally. It was fantastic customer service.   Stylish and Comfortable Hotel in a Great Location

  Stayed at Hotel Zoo Berlin due to its close proximity to Berlin Zoo and the train station. The journey from the airport was fairly straightforward and convenient.The hotel itself had a very plush feel as soon as you walked in. Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.Next to reception is the hotel lounge, which is spacious and filled with plenty of comfortable sofas. There were complimentary jugs of flavoured water available, including mint, cucumber and lime, as well as a very large jar of Haribo-style sweets, which was my daughter’s favourite part of the hotel!The room was clean, modern and well equipped. It included a safe, ironing board and iron, a Nespresso machine with capsules, and a kettle with a selection of premium tea bags.The bathroom didn’t have a bath, but it did have a large walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head. One small issue was the large shelf above the sink, which sloped downwards slightly, meaning most things placed on it slid straight off.The beds were very comfortable, and we both had a great night’s sleep.Overall, a great hotel in a convenient location for visiting Berlin Zoo and exploring the city.   A disgrace at the Grace restaurant

  We have stayed at Hotel Zoo Berlin multiple times, which makes this experience particularly disappointing.At the Grace Restaurant, we were given a poor table and told no others were available due to reservations. However, as the evening progressed, it became clear that this was not accurate, as several of those tables were later used differently.The atmosphere that developed made us very uncomfortable, especially as we were dining as a family, and it significantly affected our evening.What is most concerning is how this was handled afterward. Despite raising the issue and providing documentation when requested, the hotel maintained a version of events that does not reflect what actually happened and declined any form of resolution.This lack of transparency and accountability is not what we expect from a hotel of this standard. Unfortunately, this experience makes it difficult for us to consider returning.

  Not recommend for families with kids

  Family stay – 2 adults and 3 teen children.The hotel has a really nice interior and a cool vibe throughout. The location is also very good and easy to get around the city from. The concierge team were helpful before our arrival and organised a private transfer for us to and from the airport which worked very well.However, there were several issues during our stay. Before arriving we had emailed and were told our rooms would be guaranteed opposite each other. When we checked in this was not the case and the rooms were actually on completely different corridors. We were too tired after travelling to question it at the time, but we did email the hotel afterwards and never received a response.Both rooms were also quite noisy. One overlooked the railway line so there was regular train noise. The other room was above the courtyard area where you could hear DJ music and people talking until around 2am which made it difficult to sleep. Another issue for us as a family was the bar policy. After a long day sightseeing we went to the bar hoping to have one drink together, but were told teenagers were not allowed in the bar area after 8pm. The bar was completely empty at the time. We travel to many 4 and 5 star hotels throughout the year and this has never been an issue before.Overall the hotel looks nice and is in a good location, but because of the noise, the room situation and the bar policy we would not recommend it for a family stay. In hindsight I wish I had chosen one of the other hotels that were on my shortlist for Berlin.
