  Watch out: this is NOT an airport hotel

  This is NOT an airport hotel. It's very misleading. There is an Intercity Hotel just outside terminal 1, but it's not this Hotel ! This one is 7km away and doesn't even have a shuttle ! you have to take a taxi or figure out Berlin public transport . To add insult to injury, I arrived at 7pm but there was no more food available, not only in the hotel, there's nothing nearby either

  A nice room but in the middle of nowhere

  This hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the S bahn station, which is a 40 minute ride from the city centre. It's a fairly empty area with no restaurants, supermarkets, or shops in the vicinity. Your nearest bet in one station further down the line at Grünbergallee, where it is much more lively with a few hotels, food truck, and an Aldi supermarket. The room itself was clean and new with a big desk, windows that can open, and even air conditioning! Sound-proofing was also good as I couldn't hear the traffic outside or other guests.

  Nothing amzing but clean and adequate

  This is a totally adequate airport hotel, and by that I mean it represents good value, was quiet, clean, has comfy beds. and they had me in my room after about 45 seconds at the desk. They do make you sign up for some bogus "club" to access the high speed internet (which is actually good when you get it), so have a throwaway email address handy. I couldn't figure out how to work the A/C but that might have been user error. You can't walk here from Terminals 1 and 2 but it's less than 25 min door to door by public transit, or a short cab ride.I paid CAD$72 for my double (prepaid, booked a month in advance) which is probably the least money I've paid for a decent hotel room in 20 years. Value!

  Night before flight

  This hotel was a welcomed destination a long train ride from Dresden. Walked from BER station to hotel and checked in. Check in process was efficient, given the line of people waiting. The staff obviously knew their business. I got the itemized bill (invoice) at check in, so no delay in the morning. Room was small, clean, and tidy. Sleep quality was good. Quiet place. I did not notice the aircraft flying around. Ate at the restaurant on site. Staff was attentive and food good, limited menu, but adequate for the situation and not over-priced like in the airport. Quality local beer. I did not partake of breakfast, as flight was early. I will do this number again if needed. Cost of room was a value, given the location. Recommended for travelers.

  How the mighty have fallen...

  This is a rewrite of the review previously written quite some time ago but as it apparently contained "Vulgar or profane" language (it contained neither) I've now been asked to rewrite it. Conveniently (for the hotel) my trip was September 2023 and now that option is removed from the dates I travelled on TripAdvisor so I've been 'forced' to enter October 2023. Here goes the re-write:Haven't stayed here since the airport moved, oh dear oh dear oh dear.From the minute I walked through the door the service was poor. The Receptionist looked very irritated about something and appeared almost enthusiastic in finding ways to tell me that I had no reservation. Just as I felt like she might be about to ask me to leave the hotel I found the magic email with the reservation and she magically found my booking!. I asked if I could book a taxi for the morning, she said I don't need to as they'll be at most 7 minutes away (more later on this).Room was clean if a little bare but at least the aircon worked.Then to the restaurant - 4 bar staff/waiters, approx. 30 customers. It took 8 minutes to get me a menu, another 4 minutes to be asked for a drink.Lost count how long to order the food, but other tables that came in way after me had long since been served.Ordered starter : Onion Soup, Main : Chicken Salad25 minutes after ordering the soup arrived (the other customers who came in after me had long since finished their burgers, steaks etc.) - Soup was great!Chicken salad took another 20 minutes, chicken was going cold, croutons were like cardboard, told the waiter and he just shrugged his shoulders.Went to bed, comfy bed and pillows.Woke up on time to get my flight, ask the receptionist to get a taxi and was told I should have booked one as the taxis are crazy busy in the morning (not 7 minutes away) so the lady last night had her revenge in the end! I still made my flight just with the lesson learned never to stay here again unless you like being made to feel unwelcome, feeling hungry/thirsty and running to catch your plane...
