  Arrived around 1pm to be told the upgraded room we booked was not ready. Came back at 3pm the advertised entry time and still not ready. Eventually got to room to find there is no refrigerator as advertised but a cold box. So if its not cold to start with, you have no way of chilling it. No kettle as advertised. Reception had one delivered to room but there were no teaspoons, no teabags, no milk etc etc. There are three lifts for a pretty large hotel. One not working and barricaded off, one works but only if you are happy to go to every floor where it stops, opens it doors and waits. So one lift. Queues at peak times were ridiculous and the crowding when a lift arrived was claustrophobic. There are stairs, but they do not go to Reception, they come out at the far side of the hotel and you have to walk round the street and back into Reception. Room was large but a bit minimalist, you could have thought it was a store room for odd bits of furniture. Everything was very clean and breakfast was plentiful and a great selection. Close to all the sites and railway station. Day two I had to go to Reception as there appeared to be a problem in the room next to us. A lot of noises like someone in pain or needing assistance. I went down to Reception but was met with disinterest. Said she would call someone but I waited in Reception as I was not convinced. Took time to say goodbye to guests before picking up the phone.... Never heard or saw anyone near the room which we reported..... The following day the same again. We suspect it was a disabled person who was staying with family but it should have been investigated urgently. Not impressed with this hotel and would not stay again. There is a good Italian restaurant just round the corner though.   Fantastic Hotel and Location

  I had a really enjoyable stay at the Leonardo Hotel Berlin Mitte. The location in the theatre district of old East Berlin is ideal — plenty to explore nearby and great transport links for getting around the city. My room was lovely: modern, clean, and nicely decorated, with daily housekeeping and complimentary water provided, which was a thoughtful touch. The whole hotel felt tidy and well maintained throughout my stay. I also really liked the bar area next to reception; it’s a stylish and relaxed spot to unwind after a day out in Berlin. Overall, a comfortable and welcoming hotel that I’d happily return to.   Nothing special for the price that I paid. Amazing location. Something to improve.

  Nice hotel overall, in an amazing location, small room for 2 people, very nice and new shower, but there was something in the room not new as table with scratches etc.And so nice room but nothing special for the price that I paid.The blanket on the bed was so small and short.In the first night there was the noise for the hot air.Long wait for the elevator.Before to come there , I asked them to have the slippers and they told me yes when you will come,you can ask at reception . When I arrived, I asked at reception and he told me that I will find them in the room but there weren’t. And so no comunication between receptionists.And so I come back to the reception and I told him that they weren’t in the room and finally he gave to me.Normally If the customer asked the slippers before to come there , the most important thing to do is to leave slippers in the room in order to give the best service/ hospitality to the customer.Sometimes I didn t find people at reception for only some minutes and I think that if the hotel is in the high category , I must see people at reception always to give the best Welcome in every moment.Good food in the restaurant but only 2 waiters for many many customers, you should hire more people.I asked to have a clean table and I don’t know how long I waited.In order to have a good service it is necessary to have more employees.You should be more attentive to details and service.   Great location but has its problems

  The location is definitely the strongest point. The hotel is very well situated, close to both S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations, and within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops, which made getting around Berlin very convenient.The hotel itself was clean and tidy, and the staff we interacted with were polite and professional.However, the room was extremely small for a double. While the bed size was fine, the mattress was very soft and springy, and the pillows were particularly uncomfortable, which impacted sleep quality. There is no air conditioning — only a heat thermostat that cannot be turned off. Even when set to the lowest setting, it automatically increased again, making the room uncomfortably warm.Our bathroom also had a strong drain smell, which combined with the heat was unpleasant. Thankfully, we were out most of the day and evening, so it wasn’t a deal breaker, but it is worth noting.The gym/fitness suite was very limited. It is small, with no free weights — only a treadmill, cross trainer, bike, and a cable machine that was missing several parts, significantly limiting what exercises could be done.The most frustrating aspect of the stay was the elevators. We were on the 5th floor (out of 9). Although there are three elevators, one was out of service for our entire stay. The remaining lifts were unreliable — often not responding when called, skipping our floor despite indicating they would stop, or taking a very long time to arrive. At times we waited up to 10 minutes, and when they did arrive, they stopped on nearly every floor even when no one appeared to be waiting. This was especially frustrating on arrival and departure days when carrying luggage, as the stairs are not a practical alternative — be warned.Overall, the hotel is fine for location and cleanliness, but the room comfort, facilities, and elevator issues prevent it from being more than an average stay.
