Location

This hotel lies at the heart of Berlin close to many of the city's famous sights including the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz, Museum Island, the opera house and various famous concert halls and theatres including Friedrichstadtpalast. It is just a few paces to the famous Unter den Linden boulevard and Friedrichstraße train station lies just 300 m away.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in an 11-storey building with 3 lifts and 403 non-smoking rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park.     ProArte Suite – spacious, but a mixed experience

    Stayed in a ProArte Suite, which was spacious and nice, with both a living room and a separate bedroom. The complimentary minibar was also a big plus. However, the interior felt a bit dull and could use more character - feels dated, with a typical late-90s/early-2000s business hotel style—clean and functional, but lacking character.The hotel has a great pool area and sauna, which we really enjoyed. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming.Breakfast had a good selection, but the dining area was very crowded, which made the experience less relaxing.Unfortunately, the experience was more mixed when it came to the staff responsible for organizing, refilling, and cleaning in the buffet areas. They came across as quite strict and at times not very friendly—we were even corrected on how to serve ourselves, which negatively affected the overall impression.The evening buffet was closed during our stay, so the only option was the restaurant in the bar area. On the positive side, the food there was good (especially the steak), and the service was pleasant. A fun detail was a self-driving robot delivering food from the kitchen to the waiters.The location was okay, but not particularly exciting. I personally prefer hotels closer to Kurfürstendamm.Overall, a decent stay with some highlights, but also a few areas that could be improved.

    Thieves in my room while I slept.

    Thieves in my room stole my wallet and watch. While traveling with a small Road Scholar group (15 including our guide) I had thieves enter my room at approximately 11:30PM. Apparently my door wasn't fully closed when I set the deadbolt allowing the thieves to enter. I woke during the robbery and shouted at the thieves who quickly ran out of the room escaping down the stairwell. Two other members of our party had 2 women knock on their doors to inform them their doors were not closed. Our group members ASSUMED these women were hotel security. (I personally think they were just checking if anyone was in the room). Please be sure to pull hard on your doors after setting the deadbolt to ensure it is securely locked. (The Hotel has zero cameras in the halls or stairs).Finally, make sure your valuables are locked in the safe even when you are in the room. The Hotels Insurance company assumes zero liability unless the stolen items were secured in the safe.

    My wife and I stayed at the Maritim on a city break to explore the wonderful city of Berlin. We were very impressed with the Maritim. It exceeded our expectations in every respect.We arrived from the airport via the FEX (airport express) and the U2 to Freidreichstrasse station which is less than 5 minutes walk away.The hotel reception area is extremely plush and luxurious with many art exhibits on show.Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. The bed offered a very good nights sleep.Breakfast choices were plentiful and very tasty. The variety of options were overwhelmingly.We enjoyed the leisure facilities which I understand aren’t available at many hotels in Berlin.We also enjoyed the bar facilities where the very friendly and professional young barman Lukas introduced us to some new liqueurs.The hotel is very handily placed to allow easy access to all the brilliant sights Berlin has to offer.We can highly recommend this fantastic hotel.Wunderbar.     Slippery bathtusb. The hotel needs renovation.

    I stayed for three nighrts on the third floor. The first night I slipped in the bathtub which was slippery and there was no handle to hold on while exiting the bathtub. I asked for ice which was provided and after showing I was dissappointed from the hotel's bathroom which had not been renovated - you could easily tell from the door's condition, I wαs provided with ARNICA cream. Not once the following days I was asked about my condition. I had informed with an e-mail the hotel's manager, in my message I was descriving my accident and suggesting that the bathroom needed renovation. I do not suggest to stay at this hotel. It's position is goog but it needs renovation.     Lovely stay at this hotel 2nd to 5th January. The position is excellent, short walk to the s Bahn station. The hotel has obviously been refurbished, everything gleams and sparkles. We stayed in room 942 which was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. The bar was a nice place for a nightcap in the evening.
