  Rats....lots of them

  Hotel was fine, friendly staff, clean, good location, warm and comfy. To access the hotel door you have to go through a big gate and past some bins, with food spilling out of them. We came back at night and the rats were running around the bins, more than a dozen of them. It was awful having to run past them to get to the hotel door. I told staff in the morning and was told it was an ongoing problem.

  A wonderful oasis in a busy city

  I have stayed in many hotels across Berlin over the past 20 years but this was my first time at the Old Town Hotel - and it wont be the last.The place is ideally located to access places across the city with a tram only a few paces from the entrance. Despite this the hotel had such a wonderful vibe of calm throughout the place that it's perfect for escaping the noise & busyness of Berlin. The staff were all ready friendly & helpful and the breakfast, each morning, was a great way to start the day.Thank you!   Fab place to stay

  Rooms Clean and Comfy, Staff were lovely and accommodating: Quiet and easily commutable to Alexanderplatz ( better if trams are running ) bit of a walk otherwise. Would highly recommend the breakfast - lovely and plenty of food for the cost. No bar however bottled beer and water available in reception. Only slight quibble was that the tea and coffee in the rooms was not replaced daily but would definitely stay here again.   Excellent choice for a sight-seeing week in Berlin

  We’d recommend the Old Town Hotel strongly for a good stay in Berlin – we were there for seven nights, and felt we’d made a very good choice. I suppose it’s at the budget end of pricing for hotel accommodation close to the centre of a major European city, but it is still very comfortable and secure, with friendly assistance at the desk and a good breakfast, again with friendly service. Location is excellent – just four stops on the tram from Alexander Platz; once there it’s easy to get to any destination in Berlin, and the airport train will drop you off at Alexander Platz station, so transfers are no problem.The area around the hotel is fine. We ate at an Italian restaurant across the road on two evenings, and there’s an excellent Vietnamese street food café just round the corner, which we also used twice. This means that after a good day of sightseeing you can easily eat well within close proximity of the hotel.If we returned to Berlin I’m pretty sure we’d stay at the Old Town hotel again, and recommend it to anybody we knew who was planning a trip themselves.   Nice Room, Not Easy to Get To

  The hotel is at a nice location, close to cafes and restaurants. It’s also convenient for public transport, right next to an M4 tram stop. My room was very quiet as it was tucked away in the back. The room was also spotlessly clean and the layout was nice; despite being a small room, it felt spacious.The main challenge was getting luggage into and out of the room, because even taking the lift, one would need to take a few steps up or down to get to where the room was. Also, getting from the street to the hotel enterance, the ground is not even (which is common in the area.)
